APTBS @ Terminal 5

Tour-mates The Joy Formidable and A Place to Bury Strangers made a stop at Terminal 5 in APTBS's hometown of NYC last night (3/28). They were joined by locals Violens for one big show that is pictured in this post. More shots below...

I've seen these guys before and they're super tight, professional, and KILLER. Explosive sound.

Place was half empty but good show. Should've been at Webster Hall or maybe Best Buy Theater but, for some reason, bands have a hard on for always using Bowery Presents.

^ well I have a hard on for Ritzy Bryan, so I guess it's a wash

I feel sorry for anyone who (actually attended the show and) didn't enjoy it. They packed the 9:30 in DC Monday, and it was a fabulous show.

The Littlest Winslow at 11:27 speaks the truth! Heed him! It really was a great show. TJF is a blast. I liked Violens too.

How can anyone like a band with no hooks?
Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2012 2:12 PM
The show was awesome! First 2 bands, not my style but I support LIVE music and the people who actually play it so Kudos...The Joy Formidable are incredible live, Ritzy's voice is pure and Angelic and as a band they are tight...Thanx for these pics, I was watching you all scramble in the pit, job well done...

2:12,
I asked the same question when Arcade Fire and Grizzly Bear got big.

When will bowerypresents get the message about terminal 5?

thanks for your personal opinion of live shows and giving kudos to those who also go! made me feel not alone and warm inside and I thank you for that, but your comment about the photos is way off! WHERE THE HELL WAS DANA?? A pic of the cardboard wave?? really?

Another show I would have attended had it not been for T5.

3:01,
Not anytime soon if shows there keep selling out.

Joy Formidable was EXCELLENT. I was a little disappointed in APtBS though, their sound was a little muddy and not so tight. Maybe Terminal 5's acoustics defeated them.
I hate some things about this venue, but for a claustrophobe, the ample space is great.
