Kraftwerk

You probably didn't get a ticket, but Volkswagen is giving you another chance to get into one of the eight Kraftwerk shows at MoMA!

Over eight consecutive nights from April 10 to 17, MoMA presents a chronological exploration of the sonic and visual experiments of Kraftwerk. Each evening consists of a live performance and 3-D visualization of one of their studio albums. Volkswagen has reserved 50 pairs of tickets to each night's Kraftwerk performance at MoMA, and 500 pairs of tickets to attend a temporary Kraftwerk exhibition at MoMA PS1 from April 12 to May 14*. Fans who enter are eligible for both events. Posting an animated GIF counts as an additional entry to the Kraftwerk performances at MoMA.
Contest ends TONIGHT, so act quick. Details at vwgifaway.com.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 12:58 PM

Germans are creepy. My German girlfriend gave highly efficient methodical head though.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:01 PM

capacity 500 for each show. is this the smallest nyc show for kraftwerk?!

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:01 PM

I'm going to drop acid and walk around the museum listening to Kraftwerk in my iPod. It'll be more fun.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:03 PM

I would rather see Hot Chip

Posted by stupid as a bat | March 16, 2012 1:04 PM

1:03: Yeah, that actually DOES sound more fun.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:06 PM

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:14 PM

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:16 PM

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:19 PM

animated whaaat?

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:20 PM

So holding back tickets from real fans for shit promotions like this is why none of us got Kraftwerk tickets. Typical bullshit!

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:28 PM

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:32 PM

"Volkswagen has reserved 50 pairs of tickets to each night's Kraftwerk performance at MoMA"

Did Volkswagen use ShitClix, I mean ShowClix, to get tickets?

Seriously, 50 PAIRS of tickets? 100 tickets out of the 400/500 capacity? And that is not including VIPs. No wonder no one get tickets, there were hardly any to begin with.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 1:55 PM

If anyone even bothered to go to the MoMa page about the Kraftwerk retrospective:
"The exhibition is made possible by a partnership with
Volkswagen of America."

Volkswagon is the primary sponsor for this event. Why shouldn't they be able to give away tix for free?

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 2:19 PM

Once again we have been sold a lie because someone is in bed with an evil corporation.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 2:22 PM

"Volkswagen was originally founded in 1937 by the Nazi trade union, the German Labour Front (Deutsche Arbeitsfront)."

True Fact.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 2:48 PM

sorry, I just get flusterated when one idiot has to ruin the blog for all the rest of us.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 3:43 PM

wow, 3:43, what the fuck are you talking about, and who elected you spokesperson for all of us? i must have missed that vote, and i kind of think that most of us did as well since it wasn't covered in the BV town hall meeting minutes.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 3:54 PM

Fuck MoMA, fuck Volkswagen, and fuck Kraftwerk.

Since everyone but us is apparently in Austin, time for a little reminiscing. Can someone please link to the original "walk the fuck out" post. I've now forgotten the origin of that meme.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 6:06 PM

Did you guys hear that new Korn album? It makes me want to lasso a wallaby and teach it to reset my internet.

Posted by "lazer beam" grady | March 16, 2012 6:51 PM

6:06 I forget too, but I think it was some dude bragging how he scalped a ticket to a s/o MSG show, walked in then just walked out. Could have been LCD or maybe one of the Strokes shows.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 7:09 PM

black keys was the start

Posted by Anonymous | March 24, 2012 1:17 PM

No joke, but I just got a call that I won a pair of tickets for night 2. If you get a phone call from a 626 area code be sure to answer it.

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2012 6:24 PM

echoing what 6:24 said; i too got a call yesterday that i won two tickets (also from the 626 number; they didn't leave a message, so i just called the number back and they confirmed that i won the tickets). so this is actually legit, and thanks bv for posting about. i won two tickets to the second night.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2012 4:04 AM

Won two tickets for Man-Machine. It was an 818 number for me though.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2012 9:50 AM

50 pairs of tickets to each night, so 400 PAIRS of tickets? jesus. 400 people are covered in love juice right now.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2012 10:29 AM

@1029 400 people are $500 richer right now.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2012 10:31 AM

CAN SOMEONE JUST CALL MY PHONE AND TELL ME I WON SO I CAN PRETEND LIKE I WON TICKETS TO THIS THING FOR JUST ONE DAY.

fuck.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2012 10:34 AM

"Since everyone but us is apparently in Austin, time for a little reminiscing. Can someone please link to the original "walk the fuck out" post. I've now forgotten the origin of that meme."

I think I remember first seeing it on the Black Keys thread for their 1st show (the 3/12 one I believe?). I think it was like one of the first comments if I remember correctly.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2012 11:48 AM

hmm, today I just won a pair for Computer World on top of the pair I won for Autobahn last week. I don't think I'm lucky enough to go 2/2, I'm guessing there weren't that many entries.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2012 3:02 PM

just won tix for to see the computer world performance and i could not be happier about it.

Posted by Anonymous | March 30, 2012 2:22 PM

Any idea when we will actually receive the tickets?
