Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 11:55 AM

It better happen. I have Saturday tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 11:57 AM

Definitely getting Terminal 5 tix. Can't miss the Whigs.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 11:58 AM

Will this show sell-out?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 11:59 AM

T5? Ugh!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:01 PM

Every band playing ATP will also play NYC. Duh.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:05 PM

this is why ATP is always half full..

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:09 PM

12:01: It's better than Bowery Ballroom or MHOW or McCarren Pool.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:10 PM

I have weekend passes for ATP, and I will get T5 tickets as well. Waited too long to see the Whigs.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:13 PM

don't worry, ATP is busy scraping the bottom of the 90's barrel even as we speak. hopefully gastr del sol will headline sunday.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:16 PM

^Grubbs and O'rourke hate each other. I wouldn't hold my breath on that ever happening.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:19 PM

GO. BACK. TO. AFGHANISTAN.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:22 PM

Bowery or MHOW whould have be sick. T5, no thanks. Worst venue in NYC. I'd rather travel out of state to a better venue (done it before for other T5-scheduled shows, and it has ALWAYS been worth the extra work).

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:36 PM

12:36, i wish you that all of your favorite bands will always play roseland. you will beg for T5.

Posted by ME | April 24, 2012 12:41 PM

Roseland > T5

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 12:48 PM

T5 is great if you want to play lasertron. for shows it is fucking horrible, for someone to say that it is better than bowery or mhow they must have a substantial interest stake in that clusterfuck of a venue.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:08 PM

Ah, internet arguments. Great game! No one wins.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:11 PM

T5 is awesome! stoked!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:12 PM

Last time I saw the Whigs was at Bowery Ballroom back in the '90s. Amazing show.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:15 PM

They should have booked Mercury Lounge. Seriously, this band is irrelevant now.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:15 PM

Merc. Lounge not as good as T5, which is the bomb.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:16 PM

T5 owns!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:20 PM

clown excrement

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:30 PM

Afghan Whigs secret show@ The Acheron?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:36 PM

$53!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!! I paid $10 last time I saw them in 99 in a venue that held 300...

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:41 PM

Are all New Yorkers jews or are they all just cheap? LMAO

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:43 PM

^Go back to your cave

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:45 PM

1:41 I agree...even for T5 this is the top of their range of shows at T5..not much is over $45 a ticket at T5

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:46 PM

lasertron = hello buffalo

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 1:49 PM

GO. BACK. TO. AFGHANISTAN....line of the day

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:06 PM

Asghanistan, Ohio suburb of Cincinatti?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:07 PM

1:41 - last time refused played in the states in the late 90's they played basements for $5 to $7 bucks. Their shows at T5 were $39 with fees. It is the basic T5 inflation.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:09 PM

Promoters hand in the honey pot!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:14 PM

I just hate that the fees on top of the ticket are more than the first time I saw the band!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:19 PM

Yeah, I hate that beers are no longer $2 like in college. Grow up.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:34 PM

Well 234pm we all don't get to live hipster life like you...

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:37 PM

^Beer is still $2 in most places jerkoff world doesn't revolve around NYC

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:37 PM

Concert $54, dinner a few beers, transportation to middle of nowhere t5..$100+

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:39 PM

^ if it costs you $100+ to get to T5, I'd love to interest you in the purchase of a genuine relic over-engineered bridge currently in use over the East River

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:46 PM

^total..moron

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:53 PM

"Beer is still $2 in most places jerkoff world doesn't revolve around NYC"

Like where? Podunk, Iowa? Most places lol

Vive le T5!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 2:56 PM

2:53 is jealous that he didn't think of a snappy comeback first. But then again it's hard to get a good thought together when you've been on a 5 day crank run. And while getting boned up the ass by all the residents of Starrett City.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 3:02 PM

2:56...leave the city for once! You can even get PBR's in Manhattan for $2 but that is not beer so I digress.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 3:03 PM

I would place a bet with anyone there are bars in each state where you can get $2 beers!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 3:05 PM

"...but that is not beer so I digress."

Why people decide to emulate Kevin Costner in Waterworld and drink urine is beyond me. You couldn't PAY ME to drink it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 3:07 PM

"leave the city for once"

No, here's one for you => GO BACK TO FUCKING IOWA FOR THE SAKE OF EVERYTHING GOOD AND BEAUTIFUL!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 3:15 PM

this gonna be an instant sellout?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 4:20 PM

Should I or should I not buy these tickets to resell can someone please answer me and 4:20?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 4:45 PM

^nah, I don't think Dulli is popular enough to warrant 4x face.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 5:01 PM

Worth more than $50 if it was at Bowery/MHOW

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 6:09 PM

ATP needs to go away from you bastards. I still would rather go see the Whigs there.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2012 8:33 PM

Nobody knows who Afghan Whigs are. . . or how. . . or who. . . or why. . . the dray. . .

Posted by papa crisp | April 24, 2012 11:37 PM

HA HA PODUNK IOWA...so witty so funny! You so smaht! LULZ Don't agree with someone you are from Podunk. The ignorance on here is astounding. Have you ever left NY before? No, Brooklyn doesn't count.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 8:15 AM

Who the F cares if a band is relevant. I don't base what I listen to on what is relevant. All I know in the about 800 concerts I have seen since 1995 Afghan Whigs were one of the most memorable. Dulli puts on a show and I will be at T5 smiling all night. Listen to your relevant music Bieber and Nickleback or whatever you may think is relevant cause I dont give a crap.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 8:31 AM

presale is at noon not 10

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:53 AM

8:31 is right...whigs are one of my fav bands and i still remember how great their show was years later

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:55 AM

As a longtime Afghan Whigs fan in the 90's and early 200's, I haven't listened to this guys in forever. AW is way better than Twilight Singers, etc that Dulli has been up to since Whigs disbanded (except Gutter Twins w/ lanegan- but listen to their voices together in headphones-yikes!.

If you're in anything that vaguely resembles a somewhat happy relationship, you've prob outgrown these guys a long time ago. This show will surely be a drunken swordfight of desperate dudes who wish they were Dulli (why?) of epic proportions. I'd rather actually have sex and hang with my gf than head out to nowhere-T5-land, only to be sanwiched among sweaty, drunken dudes wishing it was still 93 and that Dulli wasn't fat.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:08 AM

Hipsters from Iowa come on Brooklyn Vegan and lecture native New Yorkers about life. The arrogance is astounding.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:20 AM

^BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH you funny yo. I would bet anyone in Iowa lived more life in 1 day then you did in your moms basement

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:25 AM

sad thing 10:20 you avoided 8:15 question. I guess you never left Manhattan! Live in a bubble man...everything will be ok.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:26 AM

This is just the same guy arguing with himself, right? Poor bastard.

I keep having less and less reasons to spend 1k for 2 tickets plus housing for me and my gf for ATP. So long as I get tickets to godspeeds inevitable NYC stop I'll probably skip ATP this year.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:55 AM

Let's all listen to "Gentlemen" today and think happy thoughts.

The rock will happen.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:07 PM

got my tixs. gonna be a great night.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:30 PM

I think that I will have a hard on from now until 2 hours after the show ends

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:37 PM

11:55 - they got these new things called cars, trains and buses. Makes that $500 for lodging a bit unnecessary.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:38 PM

Godspeed would be cool as fuck at prospect park.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 2:12 PM

Weird that there are exactly 66 comments on this, til now...

10:08. We are all happy for you. Take your balls out of the mason jar under the sink your girlfriend keeps them in and come to the show since you remember how great the whigs are. I'm sure you can pry yourself away from her for two hours to enjoy a little 90's nostalgia and what is going to be a memorable night for sure...

Oh, and Dulli lost the baby fat.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 10:14 AM

i wonder if D would show up
