Jesus, the hyperbole that Matt Pike guy is using is nuts. Does a painfully average hardcore band playing two shows really need a documentary?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:06 PM

Well...let's go ahead and address the elephant in the room. What's D think of all this?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:10 PM

check your pretentiousness.

this should be fun.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:20 PM

I've got to hand it to you guys. Hands down, this thread should be the best. Hands down.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:30 PM

Huh? 2 albums and a documentary?! I had a taco and 2 pickles for lunch today; possibly a doc about that too?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:40 PM

^^
If not a doc, you could at least tell us what kinds of pickles they were here in the comments. I like most kinds, but it's hard to beat a classic kosher dill, unless we're talking maybe a nice fresh half-sour.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:52 PM

Man, I cannot wait for the documentary on LEN.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:56 PM

I'd be interested in the taco pickle doc.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 5:20 PM

but how did he lose his damn hand?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 5:40 PM

He was born without it

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 5:47 PM

i hope the documentary covers the riches made from writing fall out boys lyrics..

Back to 4:10pm

AMERICAN NIGHTBORE
AMERICAN NIGHTHYPE
AMERICAN NIGHTSH IT
AMERICAN NIGHTCASH

Wes Eisold is a fu cking sellout in the true sense of the word. He turned his back on hardcore then comes back to it for a quick cash-in and ego-gratification.
He's also pretentious goth-looking wannabe homosexual who puts out wack wannabe '80s new wave.

American Nightmare: The U.S. Refused.

Posted by D | April 26, 2012 5:25 AM

Fuck this stumpy dickhead and his band of sausages

Caring about this band makes you a drooling retard

Matt Pike is a fag that like pro wrestling cock touching

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 7:24 AM

Does he ever attach a hook to his stump? Or maybe a power drill. That'd be cool.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 8:09 AM

I want to watch a documentary on "things you can attach to this dudes stump"

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 8:24 AM

I hate to say it, but if 5:25 is really D then D just won me over.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 10:43 AM

8:24...

- A spatula to flip pancakes.

- A stick to toast marshmallows.

- A rake for yard work.

The list is endless...

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 11:13 AM

D, I don't know the ins and outs of this guy's relatinoship to "the scene," but playing a different style of music isn't the same thing as "turning your back on hardcore," and also, are we really still disparaging people by calling them "homosexual?"

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 12:25 PM

You misunderstood - D said "wannabe homosexual." D is saying that he WANTS to be a homosexual but isn't very good at it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 12:49 PM

Cast no aspersions 'pon D.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 1:55 PM

You guys are a bunch of fucking dolts. American Nightmare is a snore. Always have been.

But frankly, as shitty as they are and as fucking awful as Wes faggot Eisold is, I'd still suck his cock.

No questions asked.

Seriously.

Posted by D | April 26, 2012 2:57 PM

american nightmare were awful whiny bullshit. cold cave is wanna be fascist bullshit

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 5:58 PM

Oh 2:57pm, 2:57pm, why oh why are you such an obvious imposter? LOL.

12:25pm Wes Eisold did turn his back on hardcore cuz he came back to it so he could make some cash and get his ego stroked then leave again (or at least until the next big "opportunity" comes along), deal with it.

I have no problem with someone playing different music, I do have a problem with him when he goes back to what he has dismissed cuz he finally Cold Caved into the idea he could make a tidy, easy, quick bundle from it. The dude said no more AN in so many words for years then he does it again? Why? From a business/gotta pay rent standpoint that makes sense but it's pretty weak when you're faking it, and he was faking it. Lots of bands have made solid livings without cheapening their art.

American Nightmare played shows again to test the waters for a full-on tour and to keep their hand in the hardcore business. Don't think for a second those dudes care about what's going on in Boston hardcore or hardcore period.

When Cold Cave are yesterday's news I guaranfuckingtee you Wes will reform American Nightmare then run some bul lshit about how "the time was right, we felt it again" blah blah blah. Faith No More back again garbage.

Posted by D | April 27, 2012 4:19 AM

He turned his back on hardcore?! Oh come on, guys, spoiler alert!

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2012 4:57 AM

Hardcore is dumb

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2012 7:39 AM

Cold Cave got a cool mil for that car commercial. Wes is NOT a HARDCORE kid anymore. This is what's wrong with the Straight Edge scene. You're only as loyal as your options.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2012 10:32 AM

The straight edge scene? You mean the one where the majority of the people in it "break edge" between the ages of 18 and 22 and many of its bands break edge then still play songs about straightedge like the following bands did / do:

Bold
Youth Of Today
DYS
In My Eyes
Floorpunch
No For An Answer

great post...loved it..

Wow lots of venom here .. interesting read nonetheless

Posted by Toronto Plumbing | May 25, 2012 6:05 AM

Wow there are a lot of people with way too much time on their hands. I didn't even know that AN was big enough to have this many haters. What do all you guys on this thread listen to anyway?

Posted by Anonymous | June 27, 2012 1:39 AM

, I do have a problem with him when he goes back to what he has dismissed cuz he finally Cold Caved into the idea he could make a tidy, easy, quick bundle from it.

great tour title

Posted by iherb coupon code | July 9, 2012 7:47 AM

On cashing in, If these guys wanted to "cash in" why wouldn't they do a full reunion tour? They could make bank in every state. Guess its not cool to revisit something you once loved. Nobody turned their back on anything, people just move on to new things in life. If we didn't, we would all be thirty somethings playing with hot wheels. Guess I turned my back on the hot wheels scene. Last but not least to the people making "stump" comments, maybe you will have a child who is different in some way. Bet you will learn about acceptance real fast, just saying. sad.

Posted by bipolarexpress | December 22, 2012 6:59 AM

I'm not sure if any of your realize this, but AN isn't the mastermind of Wes...in fact, it's the guitar player Tim, and it was his idea to get the band back together.

american nightmare rules

Posted by jordon | August 1, 2013 7:08 PM

Fuck it, this band is awesome. I'm stoked to see this documentary. And sometimes you do things for yourself, not for money and not for fans and not because you need an ego stroke..but because you just want to relive an old feeling and excitement. Cold Cave gives him a completely different rush than American Nightmare does, I'm sure. I don't see why it has to be such a big deal. You don't like them? Don't listen to them. Don't buy the documentary.
