the Izod Center filling in before Bruuuuuuuuce (via JessDefilippo)
Izod Center

"Mr. Springsteen, 62, has never had a problem wringing uplift from struggle; that was the implication of the show's most rousing songs, like "Born to Run," "Badlands" and "The Promised Land." And he has engaged poignantly with national tragedy. Among the other highlights here were "The Rising," originally a salve for Sept. 11, and "American Skin (41 Shots)," inspired by the 1999 police shooting of Amadou Diallo and rededicated, during a show last week, to Trayvon Martin." [NY Times]
Bruce Sprinsteen's "Wrecking Ball" tour hit the Izod Center in his home state of NJ last night (4/3) for the first of two in-demand shows at the venue formerly known as Continental Airlines Arena and Brendan Byrne Arena. "Wrecking Ball" was the 2nd of 25 songs the E Street Band played. Check out the full setlist below...

8:26pm, intro

Can't wait for the first potshot because I posted this. Ha!

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:18 AM

He's gonna have to learn to cut back significantly on the new album tracks in the setlist. This is basically every song off the new album, no? No one wants to hear that.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:19 AM

lot of lawyers in one place

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:21 AM

OK, it's actually 8 new songs, not the whole album. That's still much.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:24 AM

Fist pump with my hedge fund buds & wave our sweat shop gadgets in the air

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:24 AM

What time did he take the stage? 730pm?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:26 AM

10:21- how true, but only wealthy ones @ Springboard these days, many others out of work, perhaps can be seen @ Cake Shop.

Posted by anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:30 AM

So

Fucking

What

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:31 AM

^Yes because you need to be a lawyer to afford a $100 ticket

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 10:34 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:19 AM

who the fuck is this bruce springsten guy?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:20 AM

Wow. What a terrible setlist.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:28 AM

I am a big Springsteen fan but the new album is absolute garbage. I have no desire to see him on this tour if the setlists are going to look like this

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:29 AM

Eh he can't help who his fans are - and he tries to do the right thing and tweak their beliefs or confront them with songs like 41 Shots.

8 songs of a new album would be a lot for a normal bands setlist but this was a 25 song setlist - it's still only a third of the show.

I've seen him once (at MSG and of course they were great) but won't try again. Too much ticketing corruption with acts like his - whether he likes it or not. I'm not going to support that.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:42 AM

night 2 is usually better

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:42 AM

dudes. he's promoting a new fucking album. of course he's gonna play a lot of the new songs. that's why bands tour when they have new albums. the hits are in there. sure there could be more but if you're bummed after hearing born to run, 10th ave, because the night, thunder road and dancing in the dark, you're an idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:42 AM

"I am a big Springsteen fan"

How big? 300 lbs? 350 lbs?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:45 AM

I think 11:42 just created a name for Bruce Springsteen douches commenting on BV, "DUDES"!!! Welcome, Dudes. You may take your place behind the sausages and hipsters.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:46 AM

Yes you can expect lots of songs off the new album, but unfortunately this particular new album sucks. And the older stuff he did was the standards he plays almost every show. Probably the worst set list ever for a Springsteen show.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:04 PM

were any tix released at the venue? or ticketmaster drop? any ease getting in?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:06 PM

Cant this clown be taken out by one of the lifeless jub husbands of the adultress woman that he bangs on the regular in jersey. Hes such a hack job-never got it, never will. And to all those "hes the best live performer in the world" I gave him a chance and......you are fukken clueless

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:12 PM

cuz they're DUUUUUUDES

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:17 PM

what time does he start?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:35 PM

When is he going to stop bitching about how unfair it is for the working man and pay his own fucking taxes?

If you have to ask what I mean, Google is your friend.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:37 PM

One of the worst things about growing up in New Jersey was being subjected to the countless dumb apes who aren't music fans so much as they're Springsteen fans. At least the morons who are similarly obsessed with the Beatles chose a great fucking band to be creepy about.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:44 PM

WHAT TIME DOES THE SHOW START!!!????

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:59 PM

U2 > Springsteen

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 12:59 PM

I would like to comment negatively about this event. I feel the music I like is better than this, so I would like everyone who does like it to feel silly and small for liking it. I would also appreciate it if those people would direct the anger they feel towards my comment to this forum by commenting themselves below. I will then attempt to lash out indivdually.

^^My milk shake brings all the boys to the yard,And there like,Its better than yours.lash away

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 1:28 PM

1:16 I see what you did there. Trying too hard man. Never gonna work

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 1:42 PM

Springsteen = loafer rock

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 1:48 PM

1:28 FUCK YOU!!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:03 PM

BOOOOOOOOORN IN THE 1%

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:04 PM

1:42 FUCK YOU, TOO!!! See what I did there?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:04 PM

Lots of capital letters from the DUUDES.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:09 PM

12:59 - U2 is the most overrated band on the planet. Every album after Achtung Baby only had 1 or 2 good songs, the rest filler.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:09 PM

to add to 2:09, Bono's lyrics tread the line between clever and corny as fuck.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:11 PM

Yes 2:04 I see what you did there as well. Now that one was even worse than before. Confirming you are an incredibly huge loser. Congrats to you.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:14 PM

Wow, 2:14, you are incredibly sharp to discern my motive and respond forthrightly and caustically. Kudos to you and your whore mother. BOOM!!! (the sound of your mother's ass as she lands on your face)

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:22 PM

its been real fun reading you very cool dudes fight, but for reals-what time does the boss go on?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:27 PM

^About 9ish

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:32 PM

Nearly all negative comments about Springsteen show (seemingly no one here attended) on Broolyn Vegan? Shocking!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:40 PM

2:09 (who is 2:11 as well) - Springsteen is a hypocrite fool, whose lyrics make U2's look like Keats.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:43 PM

2:22, after the 2 lame things you tried, you then complete the trifecta of idiocy with a lame mother joke.

My man, you truly are the king of the tools.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:47 PM

WILL YOU TWO TWATS GO GET A ROOM ALREADY?!?!?!

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:49 PM

2:47 - Whoa, you call me a tool? How dare you, sir(madam)? You have cut me to the quick. I have been relegated to requesting you forgive me for my ill attempt at humor. Please sir(madam), please!!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:54 PM

fucking idiots
way to ruin a thread, you two

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 2:59 PM

World economy in collapse, Springsteen thread ruined; what's next, fat-free vegetables?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:11 PM

these DUDES need a different website to go to. perhaps craigslist?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:11 PM

It was doomed from the start.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:13 PM

LULZ at people complaining at a guy calling out another guy's stupid comments. As if all the other comments in here were prize winners. Come to think of it, those complainers must be that same jerkoff trying to deflect attention.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:20 PM

I get the impression "dudes" capitalized has implications. Hmm

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:20 PM

Thanks for ruining the thread you gay homosexual faggots.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:25 PM

Wow, 3:25, you must be fun at parties.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:34 PM

And here comes 3:20, adding oh so much to every thread he comments on. As usual.

Time for you go away now tough guy, m'kay?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:35 PM

No sweat, Mr. Mackey.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:38 PM

Springsteen fans are even lamer than Guided By Voices hippie fan-base.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:40 PM

Hey i made the comment at 3:20 Mr. 3:25. Please let me know which threads I have made comments on or your proof that I am even a guy. I want to be so much like you and spend my day on this blog, reading every thread and "exposing" people.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:50 PM

These threads are a barrel and anyone who comments is a fish. Seriously, no useful information is ever disseminated on these threads, so why get upset when it's populated by trolls? Just read the article if you can't deal. That being said: Go Bruce! Great show last night.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:50 PM

P U S S Y F I G H T ! ! !

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:50 PM

^ That's not true. I find the discovery that 3:50 is a twat to be highly useful.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:52 PM

^3:50 #1, I assume. But either way...

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 3:57 PM

who would've thought springsteen fans would get into pussyfights on BV? computers is awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 4:09 PM

Folks, let's just calm down here. Listen, we can agree to disagree, can't we? Isn't that better?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 4:22 PM

1:16/2:04/2:22/2:54/3:35/3:52/3:57 all the same sorry piece of shit making comments. Sitting in the basement of his mommy's house in his underwear feeling like he won the internet. It is revenge of the nerds all over again.

Also, sorry 3:50 number 2. Lame set list can't be denied. Does not look like an amazing standout show.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 4:37 PM

This website sucks now.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 4:42 PM

what happened to the big fat black dude that used to play sax with springsteen? did he get fired?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 4:54 PM

How is that supposed to be funny?

How old are you? 13?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 5:26 PM

4:54 he left the band to be a judge on American Idol.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 5:45 PM

4:37 - another fish.

No 51 Channels and Nothings On?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 11:38 PM

Anonymous troll #1 assumes every post not his own (which leaves about 5 posts in a 100 post thread) as coming from one person (let's call him "Anonymous troll #2") . Anonymous troll #1 then goes about getting obsessed over "Anonymous troll #2", steaming at how anyone can disagree with his perfect opinions (just like mommy used to tell him, back on the farm in Iowa). And so it goes >>> there are many commenting here, but as usual one sad, fat, beardo with a government-farm-subsidised trust fund and a need to prove to all of us just how much we are missing be not listening to him.

Pass the Doritos, troll

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2012 8:46 AM

11:38 you mean 57 channels?
