Craft Spells' stint opening for The Drums starts this Sunday (April 22) at Webster Hall. Tickets are still available and all Drums/Craft Spells tour dates are at the bottom of this post.
Craft Spells have a new EP, Gallery, that will be out May 15 on Captured Tracks. Like last year's Idle Labor, the new EP wraps itself in a variety of '80s influences though early New Order seems to be the primary touchstone this time. You can stream Gallery's lead track, "Still Left With Me," at the bottom of this post.
Over the last year Craft Spells, who recently relocated from Seattle to San Francisco, have become a tight live unit and both sets I caught by them in Austin during SXSW (both them and The Drums played our Hotel Vegan day parties) were great. I wish they were playing a smaller, headlining show while in NYC, but they're flying in on Sunday and play Philadelphia on Monday. Hopefully they'll come back soon.
