Cursive @ Bowery Ballroom
Cursive

Cursive is on tour now with Cymbals Eat Guitars and Conduits in support of their new album I Am Gemini (out now on Saddle Creek). That tour brought them a sold out show at Bowery Ballroom last night (4/3) for their first of two shows at the NYC venue. Their 19-song set only consisted of about half of the new album, and otherwise mixed in an even amount of material dating back to 2000's Domestica. Cursive, Cymbals Eat Guitars, and Conduits will return to Bowery Ballroom tonight (4/4) for another sold out show (which we just gave out 2 tickets to on Facebook). More pictures, videos, and setlist from last night's show are below.

I prefer Curve, personally. Two WAY different bands, I understand.

You are a nineball.

I saw cursive last night and a couple years ago and they were amazing. Not hard to believe they are still at it.

How long did they play for? Conduits worth checking out?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2012 5:29 PM

Conduits was decent. Cymbals were pretty tight, and Cursive sounded great.

Set times last night:

Conduits 8:25 (supposed to be 8:30)
Cymbals 9:25
Cursive 10:30

450 - I saw them a few years ago and was really impressed (and I see a lot of shows). All in the eye of the beholder, I guess...

I miss the way they sounded with the cellist.

Singer of Cursive looks like a perfect mix of John Frusciante & Jeff Tweedy in these pics.

I had heard the name before, but never actually hear Cursive. So I did what we all do these days when curious about something - I hit Wikipedia to find out what all the hipster buzz was about ... the Wikipedia article begins: "Cursive is an American indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska ....."

My question was answered.

I'm pleased with the amount of ugly organ on this setlist.

@8:53 and 9:32: Yet you are taking the time to comment on an article about them on an Indie music website.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2012 9:34 AM

Yep. A grand total of 15 seconds too.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2012 11:45 AM
