Third Man

"...And now, Jack White will be giving back to the city that's so warmly embraced his debut album, as his Third Man Records Rolling Record Store hits the Big Apple on Thursday the 26th to bestow upon the citizenry free tickets to Jack White's American Express Unstaged concert at Webster Hall on Friday April 27th.

An educational vinyl adventure center on wheels, Third Man Records' Rolling Record Store will be wheeling into locations all over the New York City area, then tweeting (@ThirdManRRS) each location along with instructions on how to claim a pair of free tickets to the show. There are only five pairs of tickets, one pair to be given away at each of five locations.

Jack's American Express Unstaged event, to be directed by Gary Oldman, will be previewed by one new video each day leading up to the actual performance on Friday. The first of these can be seen at youtube.com/jackwhitevevo...
Tickets for the Webster Hall show went on sale and sold out quickly last week. Blunderbuss is out now.

AKA: "it never sold out and it won't look good for sponsors to see an somewhat empty venue"

Yeah, jack loves NYC allright; but, not as much as he loves his sponsors.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 7:53 AM

this makes me happy.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 8:07 AM

7:53 - it's sold out. STFU.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 8:22 AM

Short Bus.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 8:26 AM

new album is insanely good

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 8:44 AM

@7:53, yes because 10 tickets will certainly make the difference in filling up the venue

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 8:44 AM

You're insane if you don't think Webster Hall will be packed for this.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 8:51 AM

America Express? I always pictured Jack as more of a Capitol One guy.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:06 AM

Sold out yet you can still score tickets on ebay, prices aren't that much higher then the current stubhub market for the two shows in May.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:07 AM

i haven't even listened to the album but i know exactly what it's going to sound like.

and i don't like it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:13 AM

will he be in the truck? because that would be pretty cool

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:19 AM

new album is realy great

also the prices for Roseland tix are insanely high, dang.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:24 AM

fyi: he's playing 2.5 hours for a festival in alabama or something next month so i really hope he plays for at least 2hrs!

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:25 AM

Charlie dont surf!

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:29 AM

@9:07 You're full of shit. There are like 7 sets of tickets on ebay and they are all $300-$700 a ticket at least. The Roseland shows are going for about $175, which is way overpriced at the moment and will inevitably drop by showtime. It looks like the Webster Hall show actually drove up the price of Roseland, as they were only going for about $140-$150 before the Webster Hall gig was announced.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:32 AM

Tickets are will-call only, so if anyone buys a pair off stubhub/ebay prepare to not get in, dummies

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:46 AM

^ you are quite the dummy. Two people buying two tickets each..one extra per person. They will walk in 1 each thus 2 people or a pair of tickets are available

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:48 AM

shut up

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:50 AM

these are some really funny comments :)

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:52 AM

9:46 DERP!

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:53 AM

im so sick of how this guy alway has to do things in a zany way, wouldn't mind if new album was great, but sadly it isn't.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:56 AM

^sadly u have sh*T taste in music

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:59 AM

Now for a bit of truth to combat the idiots posting above

What ebay is asking is not what people are paying. No one is buying those tickets for 700

Webster Hall did not drive up the price for Roseland. Many of those Roseland SH tickets have been on there for awhile. Initially they were going for 150 to 200 and that is where they are now. No one is really biting on those right now as Webster is the more desired show and those are not on SH cause they are only will call.

The true top price for Webster is about 300 which is what i sold my extra for yesterday on Craigs. That price will not go down though as this really is pretty much sold out and they are not putting more tickets on sale.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 9:59 AM

@959 keep telling yourself that. sold my +1 for 550

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:01 AM

The prices for the Roseland shows on SH definitely went up in the past week

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:03 AM

EVERYONE IS INSANE

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:04 AM

roseland prices went up in the past week BECAUSE THE ALBUM CAME OUT, not because the webster gig was announced.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:05 AM

everybody knows everything! so many experts around here.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:07 AM

Ugh, I sold my extra Jack White tickets on Stubhub for only 120 bucks, and now they're going for 170. :(

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:20 AM

9:59 back again.

I actually do know what i am talking about 10:07. I have been carefully watching on these since they went on sale.

10:01 you are a troll liar. You never sold it for 550. Moron.

10:05 exactly right and but they only went up about 25 dollars and then went back to the prices they were at first. No one is buying them anyway now.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:23 AM

I just invented a hipster concert ticket. the price for any show is $10, you get to stay for 2 songs then they kick you the fuck out.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:27 AM

^You can stand on the sidewalk outside Webster for free and say you were at Webster the night Jack played and you wouldn't be lying...There I saved you $550!

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:28 AM

someone really did pay me 550.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:44 AM

If possible, could Jack White get out of the van and put his head under the front tire? The sound of his head exploding would be an improvement over the shitty music he puts out

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:48 AM

I think my favorite sub-culture on BV is the defensive, surly scalper. Don't you tell him what tickets prices are!

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 10:50 AM

10:48 amen, I'm tired of this Willy Wonka motherfucker.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:01 AM

fuck a bunch a jack white

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:27 AM

another thing...

third man records is making a total shitshow out of RSD too.

they are offering amazing crazy vinyl, limited only to their shop and not anywhere else in the country (or world)..

those liquid filled 12" they sold last weekend are on ebay now for over 1200.00 dollars. wtf?

so only the shmoes who live in nashville can get any of these records? they don't even offer them to special "vault" members.

honestly..

Posted by thepunkguy | April 25, 2012 11:27 AM

I am only interested if Jack is actually driving the truck.

Also, is this run on biodiesel?

Thank you.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:28 AM

i love you guys.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:32 AM

Jack, are you listening? We want you IN the truck.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:32 AM

^yep, so we can pull him out and Rodney King him.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:42 AM

Vince Neil is driving the bus. It's made of logos.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:42 AM

legos

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:43 AM

1127 he's just trying to give back to nashvile. mad people there are rich just from jack white's rare vinyl releases.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:49 AM

the liquid filled vinyl was $100 at the Third Man Record Store, so seeing it sell for $400 on eBay only makes it 4X FACE.

we see that enough around here, let tennessee have a little.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:54 AM

fuck this asshole and his whimsical bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:54 AM

"someone really did pay me 550."

Oh yeah sure they did. Of course everyone believes you. Does not think you are a troll.

Also, again re:the Third Man Vinyl. Why does everyone still think just cause they see something listed for 1200 on Ebay, that people are actually paying that? Or that people don't inflate the price and then fuck off and don't pay the guy. Jesus what is this amateur hour here? Remember that VU acetate that went for 25000 or whatever insane price on Ebay a while back. Guess what schmuckos, it was a fake sale. The person was fucking with the guy and never came through with the money. In the end the dude sold it to a bootleg company for far far less.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 11:58 AM

1149:
some guy in a trailer just found a flexi record that fell from the sky, got 4k from it on the internet.

jack makes it rain money in nashville.
I smell "Jesus status".

Posted by thepunkguy | April 25, 2012 12:00 PM

guys.
it's not like i am just looking up shit on ebay. go to the completed listings!!

people have paid 1200.00 and more for that liquid LP.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jack-White-Sixteen-Salteens-Liquid-Filled-12-Record-Store-Day-Third-Man-/280867991407?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item4165096f6f#ht_720wt_1344

12 times the paid price.

Posted by thepunkguy | April 25, 2012 12:04 PM

1158 really doesn't seem to get that people are idiots. there is always that one person out there who will stupidly pay double what he/she should have paid. that's how i sold my +1 for 550, that's how some guy sold the liquid filled vinyl for 1200. people are stupid. and i will gladly take money from stupid people.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:08 PM

Note to self: check Third Man Rolling Records Store for Liquid Filled Vinyl.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:11 PM

1208 exactly. i remember when i sold a +1 to a private muse show for 650, and my friend couldn't get a price above 200 for his +1. people are just dumb sometimes.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:12 PM

12:11.
if you see one or two, grab one for me, I have some student loans I need taken care of.

Posted by thepunkguy | April 25, 2012 12:13 PM

Liquid Filled vinyl single! Looks cool! I would pay $7.99 for that!

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:14 PM

people who pay a lot for +1s (i.e. above $500) are usually coming from out of state and need some sort of guarantee that the majority of craigslist/ebay sellers can't provide. they want you to send them a copy of your drivers license, call and talk to them on the phone, facebook friend them, etc. that was the case the two times i've sold +1s for above 500 dollars.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:14 PM

one family found 8 flexi-disc records (balloon vinyls). that kid is going to college.

Both of those items on ebay only had one bid, and one of them started at $.99. Fishy.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:28 PM

tix are only will call no? If so, how did any of you jubs sell a ticket yet? If not then i am mistaken

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:30 PM

Guys stop arguing with 11:58. He's totally right. Ignore the completed listing on ebay that sold for $500. That was just put there to test your faith, kind of like those fake dinosaur fossils.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:35 PM

so where is the fucking truck? did they get lost in appalachia or something?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:37 PM

"Both of those items on ebay only had one bid, and one of them started at $.99. Fishy."

Exactly! Cause all these smarties above are there AFTER sale seeing the seller got his money and did not get jacked. Do stupid people pay through the nose for stupid shit? All the time. And as much of the time people on ebay also fuck with sellers offering inflated prices and then do not come through with the cash.

And trust me that idiot above did not get 500 or so for his Jack White ticket. Stop believing trolls on here.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:51 PM

Says the troll

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 12:52 PM

You guys should trust 12:51. He's the best in the biz

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 1:00 PM

New album is pretty smokin', Webster Hall should be packed...btw the bus looks like one of those food vendor trucks, and I think it would be only appropriate if Jack (who, I am sure, is actually in the truck) gave away chocolate chip cookies to those who miss out on tickets.

Posted by Joshua Sanders | April 25, 2012 1:03 PM

You're the best in the biz, Dale

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 1:22 PM

New album is really dull. Couple cool songs, lots of boring ones that go nowhere.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 1:27 PM

"I think it would be only appropriate if Jack (who, I am sure, is actually in the truck) gave away chocolate chip cookies to those who miss out on tickets."

No, only James Murphy does this. But most of the time he consumes them afterwards. I mean the fans, not the cookies.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 1:31 PM

I'd rather see Frohawk drive the truck.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 1:46 PM

no one paid me 500 for my jack white +1. they paid me 550. idk why people think i'm trolling; idk why i would troll iwth that information, or what trolling with that information would even accomplish.

trolls!

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 2:09 PM

1:58 really? You think there is a normal explanation for loser lying trolls? Think about that for a second.

And again no one paid you 550 for your plus 1

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 2:22 PM

Giving back to his fans in a ten million people city five pairs... Jack White Ass.

Posted by ME | April 25, 2012 2:24 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 2:29 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 2:32 PM

Are people really asking where the truck is? You could not read up top where it said the truck is coming tomorrow?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 2:37 PM

tix are only will call no? If so, how did any of you jubs sell a ticket yet? If not then i am mistaken............anyone?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 2:48 PM

2:48 read 9:48s comment!

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 2:51 PM

the whole will call only thing is kind of a joke anyway, in my experience. at least at club shows. i've seen resellers show up at the door at several "will call only" events at places like the bowery, webster, and roseland, only to see them handle the logistics with the door agent, then usher 2/4/(insert max ticket amount pp here) people inside without a trouble in the world.

the whole thing stinks, from top to bottom. such a disgustingly corrupt and unfair system.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 3:09 PM

@309 to counter that, i have seen countless people at every single will-call only show getting turned away because they are trying to transfer tickets. bowery and webster in particular are sticklers about that.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 3:16 PM

^
those were probably just average joe knuckleheads who aren't properly networked yet, that's all. or not "professionals," as it were. barf.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 3:40 PM

OK, here's one .... steel cage match to the death, Jack White vs. Jack Black .... who walks out alive?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:23 PM

2:51, i understand that but if tix are going for 2 hundo or less on craigslist what jub is payin 550 for a ticket already when he hasnt even met up with someone to get let into the event! Makes zero sense unless there are hard tix i dont know about

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:40 PM

440 people have dedicated sellers that they know are legit, who they feel comfortable paying in advance. one of those times when it helps to have LLC status.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2012 4:55 PM

If u don't love this guy, if you don't love this album, ur just admitting that you do not genuinely love music and have given up on life.

Posted by Songwriting Genius | April 25, 2012 10:40 PM

Is the truck to stay only in manhattan or are they doing a 5 boroughs route? 5 tickets, 5 boroughs.

Hoping they are sticking with manhattan only!

Posted by Dee | April 26, 2012 8:39 AM

no, they're going to be on staten island all day. sorry, folks.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 10:19 AM

i'm guessing he'll actually go on at like 830 and there will be a 30-minute delay so Gary Oldman can 'direct' the performance or whatever. But yea, the doors should've been 7pm.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 11:17 AM

^Maybe the Amex headquarters?

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 11:18 AM

why are they parking outside of record stores? shouldn't they be parking in areas where there are no nearby record stores? kind of defeats the purpose of a 'rolling record store' if you're just gonna park outside of places that are already selling your LPs.

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 11:29 AM

^ ha ha very true!

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 11:39 AM

they need to stop getting high and start rolling up to the next stop, wtf?

Posted by Anonymous | April 26, 2012 1:08 PM
