Matthewdavid DJing at Hotel Vegan (more)

LA beatmaker Matthewdavid dropped the free Jewelry LP last month on his own Leaving Records and followed it with a tour that hit SXSW where he DJ'd Hotel Vegan (before and after his tour-mates Sun Araw played). You can grab Jewelry for free at the Leaving Records website and stream two tracks, "Gold Rope (Stones Flip" (which flips the Stones' "Miss You") and "Grill (frosty's interview tape)," below. The album artwork and tracklist are also below.
Matthewdavid is playing a release party for Jewelry in Brooklyn TONIGHT (4/7) at Knitting Factory with Benedek, Earnest Blount, Archie Pelago, DJ CMISH, and DJ AJ Finizio. Tickets for tonight's show are available. The show flier and everything else, below...

Hey 3:51 (or anyone else thinking he is simply pressing play on his iTunes) do you know what this is? or what it can do? http://monome.org/series - Didn't think so. Please go back to sucking your thumbs, and criticizing other musicians in order to make yourselves feel better. Thanks.

3:09 -
"each is a reconfigurable grid of backlit keypads which connects to a computer. interaction between the keys and lights is determined by the application running on the computer. there is no hard-wired functionality."
it's a keyboard. no, not a synthesized piano, but a computer keyboard with no designated keys, that plugs into your laptop. you play a loop and start it at random points. you can achieve the exact same thing with a mouse.
It's a keyboard, 3:09. a $1400 keyboard for people who can't play music.
