Maxwell is poised to celebrate his entire catalog in three cities, each set to have two nights of sultry R&B in the way that only the Brooklyn native knows how. Los Angeles, Atlanta & E. Rutherford will each get a pair of shows, with the first devoted to early LPs Urban Hang Suite and Embrya and the second set for Now and Blacksummers'night. The R&B crooner will be backed by an eleven-piece band when each record is visited in its entirety, some tracks for the very first time. Tickets go on AMEX Presale on 4/20 at 10AM with regular sale hitting on 4/28 for August 3rd and 4th at Prudential Center (first two albums the first night, the latter on the second).
The tour isn't just to celebrate his releases, it's also an opportunity for Maxwell to show his political stripes
The Maxwell tour will also offer fans a way to help President Obama's re-election campaign. Custom Obama-Biden 2012 merchandise will be available for purchase at select tour stops. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Obama for America. Obama for America will also be at the Maxwell concerts to sign up volunteers to help register voters in battleground states.I guess there goes the prospects of a Romney/Maxwell ticket.

I get him confused with D'Angelo

The headline for this post is incorrect. He will be at the Prudential Center, not IZOD Center (which is in East Rutherford, not Newark).

D'Angelo hasnt done shit in over 10 years. Maxwell is a fantastic performer, and released probably the best album of 2009. Cant wait for the two follow-ups.
Not sure which one I want to go to. I've already seen him do basically every song off BLACKsummersnight. Urban Hang Suite is my other favorite album of his, but I really dont like Embrya.

D'Angelo will still always be better than Maxwell, I don't give a shit how fucked up he is or if Maxwell is still putting material out. Brown Sugar and Voodoo cannot be fucked with.

Why must D'Angelo & Maxwell be better or worse than one another? They're DIFFERENT artist. Both talented in their own right. Let that crab ish go!
