My Morning Jacket at MSG (more by Chris La Putt)
My Morning Jacket

My Morning Jacket are hitting the road for a set of North American dates, with a rotating cast of characters providing support at each date including Band of Horses, Trombone Shorty, Trampled by Turtles, and Shabazz Palaces (who recently played two NYC shows and The Mohawk). Most of those dates will also see the band giving back to a local charity, including the August 19th show at Williamsburg Park with Shabazz Palaces. Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday (5/4) (and will be available at a few places if they don't sell right out).

Williamsburg Park is the new venue replacing Williamsburg Waterfront.

Band of Horses opened for My Morning Jacket last year at MSG. If you were there, or even if you weren't, you might remember Ben Bridwell of BoH played live with MMJ on track "Wonderful (The Way I Feel)" . Well, they recorded that performance and are giving the song away as a free MP3 for a limited time at the My Morning Jacket Facebook page.

All dates are listed below...

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2012 1:51 PM

what's the capacity in there?

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2012 1:52 PM

Kind of agree with you 1:42. I mean they will selll out the roll call presale. Then they will claim the show is sold out after regular sale. But then come close to the show there will be so many tickets available you can probably pick one up for less than the $60 face

I did not think MSG could host anything more lame than Arcade Fire (remember them?). Then came the nightmare of MMJ

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2012 7:26 PM

MMJ played MSG before Arcade Fire did. And it was awesome. The 2nd time MMJ played MSG was also awesome. You, sir, are a retard.

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2012 7:44 PM

Few things at MSG have ever been awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2012 8:09 PM

no 7:44 you are incorrect, and both shows were horrible. Thank the corporate marketing schemers for having the good sense to stop promoting AF.
you actually like mmj? lol

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2012 8:54 PM

7:44 ftw. 7:26/8:54, he/she was right, you are def a retard.

Posted by Anonymous | May 1, 2012 9:13 AM

Pussy rock.

Posted by Anonymous | May 1, 2012 9:22 AM

I can't believe that some of you criticizing the individual music tastes of others don't realize just how ignorant / childish this makes you look.

I guess that's why it continues

MMJ is awesome...and I could probably physically destroy 90% of you in hand to hand combat. That siam...the does attract pussy which I too enjoy. So they I guess they are pussy rock in a sense

^ Insecure about the bands she likes. Slagging genres of music you don't get and getting overly defensive about any less-than-positive comments about your campy indie band. Figures. Too cute!

Posted by Anonymous | May 1, 2012 12:49 PM

what's going on here?

Posted by Anonymous | May 1, 2012 1:01 PM

bowery presents just listed a My Morning Jacket show for 12/28, and the link took you to a blank page on ticketfly. it is now gone. looks like they'll be playing the new capitol theater! nice.
