Negura Bunget

I went to watch Transylvanian black metal band "Negura Bunget" play on Friday night in a small venue called Cameo in Fuckface Town (previously called Williamsburg, and now the zombie epicenter of Brooklyn and NYC in general)...Despite significant sound issues, their performance was excellent. Negura is a large band and they have different sounds requiring different and surprising instruments, such as traditional Romanian flutes and bells. The vocals were very polished, ranging from traditional black metal harsh to smooth and operatic. They arrived late because of airport problems and could only play for an hour. I was home by about 12, ears slightly ringing and very, very happy. -[Obsidian Noise]
Coming straight from Romania, directly to the stage in Brooklyn, Negura Bunget played Cameo on 4/20 with Haethen. The NYC show was the kick-off to their US tour that includes a stop at Maryland Death Fest.

The NYC show's lineup changed a few times. It was originally supposed to include Eclipse Eternal, Wolven Ancestry and The Way of Purity. Then Din Brad (which contains members of Negura Bunget) was added, but forced to cancel due to their late arrival at the venue that night. Pictures of both bands that played, Negura Bunget and Haethen, are below, along with all tour dates and a video of Negura Bunget.

"...in a small venue called Cameo in Fuckface Town (previously called Williamsburg, and now the zombie epicenter of Brooklyn and NYC in general)..."

Oh, admit it. You're a WB trendie in disguise here. You're not fooling anyone.

Zombies are cool...people living in WB are not.

"...Twenty years of playing together..."
apparently that writer is not only a doucheface but also an uninformed idiot. 90% of the band are new recruits, singer joined in 12/2011. Only the drummer has been in the band since day 1. you know what you call this? A farce!

That blogger is a total tool, as evidenced by all the self-righteous quips on that blog and also apparently not knowing Neguar Bunget has had so many line-up changes over their career.
I love metal, but shits like him make me reluctant to hang out with the majority of the scene.
And Negura Bunget aren't even good.

yeah this was an awesome show and amazing sound considering the band just got in, plugged and played while have a complicated setup. props to cameo's engineer.

A joke played on everyone present. None of the people in "Negura Bunget" actually wrote the music, it's basically a gathering of mercenary musicians on continuous rotation, selling a lie and making a mockery out of everyone present, including themselves.

And yes, the blogger is a complete tool who fell for it all. Very amusing indeed.

my mind is blown by the fact that this band doesn't consist of the original lineup and also that anybody listens to them.

All things considering the band delivered the goods on Friday night. Been following them for 10 years and was the first one upset at all the personnel changes ... all that went out the door Friday when the new members delivered the goods and played like consumate pros considering the circumstances.

And yes, big kudos to the sound man for a great mix.

20 years of playing together? The guys and gals on guitars and piano dont even look like they are aged 20 let alone playing 2gether. Then the headline would have been STRAIGHT OUT OF WOMB AND INTO BROOKLYN STAGE
