Pulp on Fallon
Pulp

Jarvis is keeping busy. One day after he finished a run of shows at the Whitney Museum, and one day before two shows at Radio City, Pulp appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon (last night, 4/9/2012). They performed one song on air, and one off. Watch both below...

Good to know after all these years they can still play their two good songs well.

Mashing chickpeas into a pulp > Pulp

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 5:01 AM

@ 1:44 - Pulp only have 2 good songs?? Are you really that f--king misguided, little boy?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:08 AM

1:44's comment is the equivalent of bombing a joke in front of a crowd of people who feel bad because they think you're slow or mildly dimwitted.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:10 AM

so no more russell in the band?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:12 AM

One hit wonders.

Ticketmaster has 15th row center orchestra seats still available for tonight's show. The promoter totally fucked this up. There's not enough demand for these guys in 2012. If I bought tix to tomorrow's show I would want my money refunded unless I was in better seats than the 15th row.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:14 AM

This is a great band! In 1999.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:24 AM

" If I bought tix to tomorrow's show..."

But you obviously did not, so WHY THE F--K DO YOU CARE???!

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:24 AM

8:14 - Referring to Pulp as 'One hit wonders' proves only one point...that your massive lack of music knowledge could fill the giant abyss know otherwise as your mother's gaping filth-hole.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:29 AM

This is a great band! In 2012.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:41 AM

that is Russell Senior, he's just looking a little more senior than he used to.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:56 AM

Charging $90 a ticket is despicable.

This band is playing a couple of shows on their layover to California. No special lighting, cheap rental sound equipment, no video.

Expensive tastless dinner on a paper plate.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 8:57 AM

Who?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:00 AM

lol 857am I can't wait till everyone comes back tomorrow to say that tonight's show was amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:00 AM

"This band is playing a couple of shows on their layover to California"

2 nights in NYC at Radio City is not a layover. Idiot!

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:09 AM

This band was never good to begin with. Why are they playing still?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:11 AM

9:11 - is life painful when you are that f--king dumb????

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:15 AM

guys, this is gonna be great #BVsincere

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:36 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:46 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:52 AM

Jarvis is so amazing

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:54 AM

I did not know Jarvis Cocker was that entertaining.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:55 AM

He's so fly

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:58 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 9:59 AM

I'm pretty damn excited for tonight. Pulp!

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:00 AM

these comments are like amateur hour. pulp are fucking amazing. do your homework, kids.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:01 AM

He is not Jesus! But he has the same initials.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:02 AM

I snorted cocaine with Jarvis Cocker once. He was really charming and sexy.

Posted by Helen | April 10, 2012 10:04 AM

Pulp is pure gold. Candida looks so pretty. For all of the simpletons who spew untruths like they are 1 one wonders.... stop embarrassing yourselves and fuck off. You're very sad.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:04 AM

what times does daft pulp go on?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:16 AM

^ worst comment in BV history

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:21 AM

This is Hardcore

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:22 AM

They really should only play songs from We Love Life.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:24 AM

There are no brown people in this band.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:26 AM

sounds like David Bowie.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 10:28 AM

David Bowie has a soul..This is awful

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 11:40 AM

Wow, BV trolling has hit an all-time low. No creativity, just subpar idiocy. It's like these kids aren't even trying anymore.

ps - Pulp will be AMAZING tonight!!!!!!!!!!!

A quick question for all the people that wrote negative comments here. Why? That's a sincere question. What is the point? You don't like this band and that's totally fine but why the need to let everyone know? Where does the hatred come from? You can't handle that people love a band that you don't like? Why does that seem to hurt you so much?

Anyways, Pulp is fucking amazing. I was a casual fan when I saw them live at the Leeds festival in 2002 and they blew my fucking mind. Sometimes a band needs to be seen live to be understood. Either way all this hatred and negativity is pretty immature. This is a forum for people that love music why is their so much animosity between people?

Posted by halified | April 10, 2012 11:55 AM

^ Here's another (and better) question. Why bother responding to all the negative posts (well, I have to make the distinction here... negative TO THE BAND, that is) trying to insult them? What does that accomplish? Other then a transient feeling of false superiority coupled with a literal pat on the back? It might occur to you that you're falling right into the trap of all the shit-talkers of the band.

I am a Pulp fan out and out, but a little Devil's Advocate is in order here.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 12:22 PM

12:22 I find your comment really odd. How was my above comment negative? I'm genuinely curious why people on these comment boards are so hostile towards each other. I think that the comments are immature but that's hardly being negative or attempting to start a fight with anyone. I was asking a simple question, I wasn't shit talking. And its not about me trying to feel superior to anyone, although its pretty ironic since you called your question better than mine.

My point was to start a dialogue and to try and figure out why people are so mean to each other. I wonder if people would feel so free to talk the way they do if they weren't anonymous.

Posted by halified | April 10, 2012 12:43 PM

good fight you guys.
DAFT. PULP.
show is going 2 rule tho.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 12:49 PM

I love that band but the performances are pretty weak. The band sounds tired and the drummer is hitting like a little girl. Without Jarvis and his awesome monkey dancing this wouldn't be much of anything.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:11 PM

this blog is a joke yo

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:15 PM

1:11 is a clueless loser that doesn't know anything about music. Just another clown trolling BV.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:33 PM

I always disregarded this band, but those performances are pretty awesome. The band sounds great and Jarvis is in top form.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:35 PM

I never heard of Pulp. They really rocked the Fallon show! I wish I had bought tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:36 PM

The drummer really kicks. I've been a fan since the beginning. I think they sound better now than ever.

Posted by Shawn | April 10, 2012 1:37 PM

The band sounds tremendous. Jarvis is the weakest link. I guess he's overworked.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:38 PM

I don't know anything about music. I suck at guitar. But I like to write ignorant comments on BV. It makes me feel like I know something about music.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:40 PM

William Shatner / Joe Jackson did a better job with Common People.

Posted by Edoc | April 10, 2012 1:45 PM

Pulp sounds awesome! But I didn't get tickets, so I will continue to write stupid comments about how bad they sound.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:45 PM

wish I could see Pulp, but I'm on vacation. looks like they killed on Fallon

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:47 PM

^no one cares

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 1:52 PM

My cousin makes $86/hr with PULP on the internet.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 2:07 PM

11:55 just gave me idiot shivers.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 2:38 PM

12:43: I think they just talk shit about the band in order to get people to respond back to them. It's flame-baiting. I think that they are doing this on purpose to get a reaction.

My comment might have come off as a bit antagonistic, but considering I have seen a history of people getting overly defensive to the point of trying to harshly insult people back, I have to wonder why they bother with them? It's just a trend i have noticed for some time for the reasons I explained in my original comment (which admittedly might not ALWAYS be the case).

It does sound like you're trying to be more reasonable though than most others here. So I don't mean to get into anything with you. Also me saying "I have a better question" was really meant as "what I really want to know...". I was kind of being facetious there.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 3:38 PM

Common People sounded awful on Fallon. This looks to be quite a let down. Maybe I'll skip Coachella on friday.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 3:48 PM

Common People sounded awesome on Fallon. This looks to be quite the party. Maybe I'll hit Coachella on friday.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 3:55 PM

I hate my life. I hate my job. I'm jealous of everyone going to Pulp.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 3:57 PM

I'm going tonight, and tomorrow!

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 4:00 PM

I hate my girlfriend, I masturbate to gay porn when she's out, I hate radiohead and david bowie. AND I HATE PULP.

WORST BAND EVER.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 4:03 PM

I used to tell people I like this band, but now I don't. I also enjoyed pussy, but these days I crave the sausage in my mouth. Can prayer save me?

Posted by right wing liberal | April 10, 2012 4:08 PM

lets all meh-t up in the year 2000

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 4:12 PM

The Libertines were better than this band.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 4:22 PM

Pulp is just another poor mans Interpol. You can tell by their tailor.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 4:25 PM

4:03: Prayer will indeed save you from that along with being a Pains of Being Pure At Heart fan. :)

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 4:33 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 5:14 PM

Pulp goes on when the scalpers outside Radio City unload all their tickets for $20.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2012 5:25 PM

$20 is what i paid for tonight and that was hours ago. sell mortimer, sell!
