Jarvis scales Radio City Music Hall - 4/11/12 (photo by eversincedapper)
Pulp

Pulp played their second of two shows at Radio City Music Hall last night (4/11), and though the setlists were pretty similar with the same amount of songs, they mixed it up a bit. This time "Misshapes" was played at the end of the encore instead of at the beginning of the show, "Bad Cover Version" was played in the encore instead of "Live Bed Show", and they played "Monday Morning" instead of "Party Hard." Check out the first night's setlist and pictures HERE. Check out the second night's setlist (UPDATE: Pictures HERE), below...

He talked too much between songs. The slow songs in the last half of the set were dreadful filler. They killed momentum until Common People was played. Overall, this concert earned a 6 out of 10 score.

Easy victory over the Bucks. Consider that playoff spot reserved.

Like a Friend was goat fuck insane! Like missiles of ecstasy in my balls for 2 hours. That's PULP.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 12:51 AM

I didn't even do ecstasy this time!

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 12:52 AM

I thought it was good, not great. I agree with the too much talking and not enough playing.

There were some songs that rocked the crowd and some songs put people to sleep.

I paid $24 for a ticket this afternoon. It was worth that, but not much more. Def not worth $80 face value.

and to teh op that said this is better than lcd, well LCD is a million times better and it's not even close.

I'm curious as to how they will play at Coachella. Some of their music isnt festival friendly but some rocks. That's what the show was. Some songs were okay and there were some that rocked.

Overall, good but not great

I'M GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 12:56 AM

They were fantastic. The in-between song banter was welcome, after-all, the guy is a character. The show flew right by, slow jams and all.

Posted by flounder | April 12, 2012 1:05 AM

That was the most life inspiring, thrilling performance I have ever experienced. And I told you Vegan, I didn't even do X this time!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 1:06 AM

I saw LCD in the pit, and they're one of my favorite bands. But you know what Vegan?? LCD is like The Grateful Dead next to PULP like Led Zeppelin!

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 1:08 AM

Bowie isn't even that good. He WAS. Maybe around Station to Station.

We have Pulp now, and it's divine.

Posted by Pust Kerns | April 12, 2012 1:14 AM

Tonight was much better than last night. I guess they really wanted to go out with a bang here in NY.

Posted by Sven | April 12, 2012 1:17 AM

What the shit was that??? I usually hate RCMH. The crowd was dope. The energy was tight. The band was heavy as fuck! Everything was perfect.............

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 1:19 AM

I'll explain why Pulp can do no wrong by their set lists. This is Hardcore was so God damn awesome, no one needs anything more off that album! Sure, we all want The Fear, or Seductive Barry, but fans should have seen that tour in the '90s. It was that good! Same goes for each song off each album. There was no filler. Every song was heaven tonight.

HEAVEN - Ted Danson style.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 1:32 AM

I gotta be honest. I took ALOT of ecstasy at the Hammerstein show, last Pulp show in NY in the 90s. And it was one of the greatest nights of my life. But seeing them tonight, clear headed and rolling off the pure vibe of the music and audience, I absolutely get it now. Pulp is Christ in rock and roll form. It is not coincidence his initials are J.C.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 1:40 AM

pretty good show, I must say

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 1:47 AM

Perfection in 2 hours. If only they would make a new album.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

I hope Jesus Christ is reading this. Make a fucking album please!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 1:48 AM

I noticed, Jarvis is a really great guitar player now. I don't recall him playing like that in the past. He played some of the leads. Played beautiful guitars too. Great night.

Posted by Mikey | April 12, 2012 1:52 AM

The light show was pretty nuts.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 2:04 AM

whoever posted the 1st comment was definitely not at the show. I know because its my roommate and he spent the whole night trying to psyche himself up to seeing the Scorpions reunion tour in July.

Posted by MotleyJew | April 12, 2012 2:40 AM

I just shit out my hummus sandwich and I got 12 for 1 Bamboozle ticket offer! Even a free meet and greet with Bon Jovi's guitar tech if I buy a $50 parking pass! Dreams to come true! #richardhawley

holy shit! just bought Andrew WK a drink at Santos Party Dome! Psyched! I loved that song he put out when I was in high school. #facepaintmeltdown

Posted by walkthemoon | April 12, 2012 2:46 AM

I met Jarvis after the show and even he said you over hyping mongoloids need to shut up. He called you morons and trolls.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 2:55 AM

I'm really pissed. I bought 4 tix to the Jason Mraz Friend Is A Four Letter Word tour thinking he was going to do all Cake covers. Now I find out he is playing his own douche pop songs and looks like a young Eddie Vedder without the talent?

Posted by bigheadtoddisaminiindian | April 12, 2012 2:58 AM

I met Jarvis in 1994 and his name was Armpits.

Posted by theharryhoodinternet | April 12, 2012 3:03 AM

I can't understand why everyone is writing night 2 was better. I thought night 1 was really fantastic and even more enjoyable than night 1.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 3:42 AM

^Everyone? It was 2 people on here who said that. How is that everyone? I too thought Night 1 was much better.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 3:58 AM

Meh. Boring as fuck.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 6:40 AM

I thought Night 2 was better, but then again I scored a $95 orchestra pit seat on StubHub yesterday and took my teen daughter, who got to touch Jarvis's hand.

Way better than the setlists in 1998, which ONLY included material from Hardcore and Different Class. Also, Jarvis works the stage WAY more than he did back then - look at some videos of them in concert back in the 90s, where he moved his head around a lot but was fairly stationary.

Posted by JT | April 12, 2012 8:09 AM

the 45 comments above were written by a total of 8 people. Show was good, nipped at the heels of great but not quite there. In part I believe that result falls at the feet of those in attendence last night. Given the size of the venue and number of ppl there I thought the audience was quite subdued. The audiences responses to songs were not overwhelming/ over the top.And any performer will tell you that they feed off the energy off the crowd...in addition audiences have gotten quite lazy for encores. They don't don't hoot, holler and stomp. They sit in their chair and wait or get on the phones.. sad lot.

Sounds like a bunch of gay-curious first-time-concert-attenders packed out RCMH last night. I'm sure I would have thought it was great too, if I was a fucking retard.

Posted by Anonymous | April 12, 2012 11:48 AM

people at this show are just as pathetic as the losers to see mccartney play for 300 dollars. its over guys. its not the 90s, youre not 23 anymore. move on.

Yes, we should forget all goo dmusic in the name of flash-in-the-pan bands who can't even play their effing instruments. Have fun listening to this month's flavor you insipid little boy.
