Japanese musician/composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (who is a member of Yellow Magic Orchestra and has scored many films) is curating and performing at the next six days of performances at The Stone starting TONIGHT (4/24). Tonight it's just Sakamoto. On Wednesday (4/25) he'll be joined by Stone director John Zorn and Mayo Yamaguchi. On Thursday (4/26) by Aya Nishina, on Friday (4/27) by Taylor Deupree, on Saturday (4/28) by Otomo Yoshihide, and on Sunday (4/29) by Stephen Vitiello. Tickets are only available at the door, day of the show.

I think Japanese artists are phenomenal. I was listening to a genre of music called okui masami and I thought it was great. Kind of japanese rock.
