Sleepy Sun 2012
Sleepy Sun

Sleepy Sun's first LP without the powerful voice of Rachel Fannan, and third LP overall is Spine Hits, due on April 10th via The End Records. The San Francisco psychedelic pop band keeps some of the same influence on Spine Hits, yet forges in different directions on the new record as evidenced by tracks like "Stivey Pond" and "V.O.G." The latter makes its debut in this post, and you can listen to both below.

As discussed, Sleepy Sun kicks off a round of tour dates with a free show at Amoeba Records tomorrow (4/3), eventually heading to the East Coast for string of shows with White Hills. The NYC dates are Glasslands on April 9th (with Weird Owl) and Mercury Lounge on April 10th. Tickets for both Glasslands and Mercury Lounge are still available.

All tour dates and those song streams are below.

In the case of going all Seinfeld on yous, just exactly who are these people? Or rather, who are these bands?

what happened to rachel? i had the biggest crush on her after the first kutscher's ATP performance.

It's Rachel Fannan, not Drannan. Sleepy Sun haven't been worth much since she left.

that girl Rachel was the worst. no humility, tons of armpit hair.

Unfortunately, neither has she.

I was rather underwhelmed by them at ATP '10, but Rachel did a killer rendition of "Edge of Seventeen" during lobby karoake.

seen SS several times with Rachel and twice without... currently they are lacking without her!
