Black Breath are lame!

Posted by Claes | April 16, 2012 7:18 PM

It's like they got every lame poser hardcore band today and put them on the bill.

But where are Nails and All Pigs Must Die?

Posted by lol | April 16, 2012 8:31 PM

Nails the band with the primadonna who wouldn't play a show cuz the soundsystem wasn't good enough (Todd Jones.) Real hardcore. Real dick.

All Pigs Must Die is not a hardcore band either.

Poison Idea isn't a "poser" band but they're crap now and have been for years.

Where's Harley's War as they're signed to Southern Lord?

why would you put a show at acheron? it's the worst sounding venue on the planet. any band playing there sounds like indecipherable white noise.

Posted by brandonmetal | April 17, 2012 1:14 AM

Yes Poison Idea was awesome back years ago. Surprised they are still together in some form or another.

I'm with ya, 6:22. Although under the caveat that they won't play to much of the boring Southern Lord stuff. Which I realize probably defeats the purpose of the yet to be label-named tour.

Harley's War is a joke.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 9:24 AM

Does anyone know who's in Poison Idea now? Is this just a one-off for them in Portland?

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:41 AM

^stuffing their faces with sausage?

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:46 AM

YO man, dont hate. These bands are talented and if you dont dig them dont go or listen to them. Just because youre in a hardcore band doesnt mean you have to put up with crap sound. Todd Jones is good.

Posted by Kyle | April 17, 2012 6:28 PM

YO Kyle I'm not hating. 'Love how speaking my mind and saying something that someone disagrees with is "hate" and me being "bitter".

Todd Jones/Nails refused to play a show because the venue's soundsystem wasn't good enough for him/them. That's some primadonna wannabe rockstar shit when bands who bury anything he's ever done including Bad Brains, Cro-Mags etc. played on every type of soundsystem including I'm pretty sure ones worse than what he rejected. I didn't know hardcore was about playing on top-notch soundsystems, thanks.
You agreed to play the show, you play it. Deal with what you got. Make do. Like countless bands have done/do/will do. This isn't Live Nation/Bowery Presents/AEG Live. Play those venues if you want so-called "top-notch" soundsystems (Gramercy Theater sound sucks ass.)

Um, if you're in a hardcore band and think you're not putting up with "crap sound", you're playing the wrong shows and venues. Maybe it wasn't the best soundsystem but hey, sometimes that's all a venue can afford to have. If they can make do, so can one band passing through. 'Sorry they didn't have the sounsystem Todd Jones/Nails wanted. I guess the venue had to spent thousands of dollars so a pseudo-hardcore band would be satisfied with playing their place. If Todd didn't want to put up with a "crap sound" then wtf is he doing playing hardcore shows and venues? Part of hardcore means playing less than professional soundsystems sometimes/most of the time. BTW why didn't he get the skinny down to tech specs before agreeing to play? Nails agreed to play the show then dicked out, simple as that.

Your defense of Nails is WACK.

Posted by D | April 19, 2012 3:08 AM

Oh by "less than professional soundsystems" I mean whatever the fuck he considers pro.

Harley's War is a joke? Nah you're just another John Joseph ballhugger.

The last thing Harley put out that I was (am) into was the criminally underrated Cro-Mags "Revenge" released in 2000. A long time ago, but I'll say this about Harley's War:

At least Harley is writing and putting out new music under a different name and moving on with his life unlike John Joseph who is, in 2012, milking the same 15 or so songs HARLEY CO-WROTE WITH PARRIS OVER A QUARTER-CENTURY AGO and bashing Harley from time to time in the process. He's doing this under a name HARLEY CAME UP WITH (Cro-Mags.) JJ has no respect for what Harley did and did for him. He owes his entire public existence to Harley who recruited him and admitted him into the band when Parris didn't want him, and (JJ) can't stand it so much he goes through great lengths to avoid talking about Harley (and facing Harley in person LOL.) If Parris had final say-so, there would have been no "John Joseph of Cro-Mags" and John knows it.
