You saw the setlist and a few pictures from throughout the Sunday night Coachella headlining set by Snoop Dogg, Dre & friends. Here are more pictures (of the first three songs from the photo pit), and a video of the whole hologram Tupac segment. Watch that and a couple of other clips from the show (Eminem included), with the pics, below...

2Pac Live at Coachella 2012 (w/ Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre)

"It's tempting to say up front that Tupac Shakur stole the show on Sunday night when his likeness appeared alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre to cap off the first weekend of Coachella, but that would just be for a cheap laugh. Making a "cameo" as a hologram projected onto the stage and the jumbo screens above, the late Los Angeles rap icon was the least dynamic of the parade of rappers young and old who held the mike.

But in his defense, he was just a hologram." [LA Times]

This was absolutely phenomenal and shows the brilliance technology can bring to art. It is through art that we can carry on the legends of the most brilliant performers and minds of our time. What a tribute this was to a legendary hip hop artist. You can see some more 2Pac art on my artist’s blog with a surreal illustration I made in memoriam recently at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/09/in-memoriam-tupac-shakur.html

yeah that's definitely a blunt...I'm not saying this hologram business isn't cool. It's pretty unbelievable how realistic it looks, but seriously what's next? Beatles play Citi field...hologram John Lennon and George Harrison included. I don't know if I like where this is headed.

Next will be NWA with holographic Eazy-E. Slip the C-note and you can choke on a holographic wing-ding-ding-a-ling down your throat.

Would be cool to see a hologram of the "godfather of gangsta rap" Eazy-E. NWA reunion, Eazy and Bone Thugs would be nice. I wana see him on stage with his kids: lil eazy, eazy3, yung eazy, e.b.,...
