Preservation Hall Jazz Band

Brooklyn's Prospect Park food & music festival The Great GoogaMooga is still somewhat of a mystery, though the food lineup seems to grow by the day. What about the music (and more general admission tickets)? Well, the festival just posted this:

"Turns out we've got just as healthy of an appetite for music as we do for food and drink. On Monday, April 23rd, we'll be laying out the spread of musical enticements so you can come to The Great GoogaMooga ready to rock out between bites - 2 days, 2 stages and 10 acts each day.

Since we'll already have you drooling on Monday, we'll be opening general admission ticket registration the next day, Tuesday, April 24th. More details to come...
Meanwhile, James Murphy/Aziz Ansari/Anthony Bourdain ExtraMooga tickets are still on sale, and we know that that the Preservation Hall Jazz Band is one of the musical acts playing the fest on Saturday, and Naomi Shelton & The Gospel Queens are playing on the Sunday. Anyone else have any leaks?

Hologram Ytinasnil sounds fantastic. Gives new meaning to YTINASNIL lives.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:20 AM

I just saw a hilarious video on youtube with a talking honey badger. Watch it!

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:29 AM

Stop your whining. It's a free festival. Take whatever you get.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:32 AM

sufjan stevens gonna roll out from his bed and play this one
he lives by the park right

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:36 AM

Can you only watch the acts if you have the 250$ ticket?

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:37 AM

WAHHH, I didn't get tickets so this whole thing is gonna stink! WAHHHH WAHHHHHH!!!

Seriously, shut the F up and try again when more tickets are released. Even if this was just a food and beer festival without music, the vendors look great and there will be 35 breweries present. What would you possibly have better to do on a beautiful Spring day?? Sit inside and be miserable?? Have fun and stop wishing you were somewhere else!

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:40 AM

Hologram Jim Morrison will be in attendance. Read it on Gothamist.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:42 AM

1040 I will be bringing my own cooler with my own beer and save from spending $8 for a cup. then dance to james murphy DJing Daft Punk!

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:45 AM

The best part of this thing is how faggot-free other parts of the city will be while it's going on.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:45 AM

^ There ain't anywhere in the (white parts of the) city for to escape soft people anymore. Foodies and twee for you and me.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 10:49 AM

Lamest comments ever including my own from earlier. I'm looking FWD to going to this for free and they just upgraded me with plus one. I got no problem with the MOoga. Most of you are dummies.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 11:03 AM

this is going to be awesome, i'm going to eat and drink my face off, maybe even hear some good FREE music

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 11:06 AM

Will Frohawk be there?

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 11:19 AM

Hologram Jim Morrison. That would be awesome. He could face off with Hologram Ian Curtis.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 2:08 PM

Seems like the music acts will suck.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 2:27 PM

I can't believe no one has any scoop! Not that the hologram Jim Morrison isn't a legit possibility.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 2:52 PM

The Great Screwga Youga

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 2:55 PM

"Seems like the music acts will suck."

What could you POSSIBLY be basing that stupid a-hole statement on??! Your lack of knowledge on the topic?? Your inability to make a locigal comment?? Sit back and eat a great big steaming pile of your mother's stinking mess.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 3:04 PM

No way Radiohead is playing this
thats a fact

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 3:15 PM

The reason people are wondering/complaining about the line-up is you would need to have something Radiohead-esque to justify the $250/day VIP ticket price. So it has people curious. If it's not something that good, then the people who organized this and set the price on the VIP tickets are out of their minds.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 3:27 PM

Galactic is on the bill, potentially as one of the headliners.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 3:31 PM

Jim James is playing Saturday.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 3:32 PM

Will there be artisinal hummus there?

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 3:35 PM

Where is this Jim James information coming from? Just an assumption because of Preservation Hall?

Posted by Adam | April 17, 2012 3:48 PM

Guys, this just in: Friends are headlining!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 3:57 PM

Adam, no one on here knows what they're talking about.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 4:27 PM

Fitz and the Tantrums will be there too. Just spoke to them on Sunday during a signing at Coachella!

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 5:13 PM

Since it's billed as a "food and wine" festival "with music," I don't have high expectations for the music (I'm expecting county fair level, like the acts listed in the OP). I think real food and wine festivals do sell VIP tickets for this much money in exchange for meeting chefs, getting private tastings, etc. so, no, the VIP price does not mean a massive national act is playing.

As a food festival, I am disappointed that it's so far mostly local restaurants us New Yorkers eat at already. Don't we do this already at Smorgasburg? I'd rather a food festival of foods and chefs I can't eat normally in NYC.

Confidential to 10:45/10:49 - Sorry you two real men don't like "faggots" and "soft people." Maybe you'll get lucky and next year Prospect Park will have the "Great Hard People Fistfucking and Meth" Festival for you two rad white trash bros and others like you.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 7:31 PM

5:13 - Congratulations! You're officially the biggest loser in NYC!

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 7:46 PM

7:46 - It's cool. Must be a tough job judging others anonymously on the internet.

Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2012 9:21 PM

Right on, 7:31. I'm with you.

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2012 9:41 AM
