DRI at Emo's in 2011 (more by Tim Griffin)
DRI

DRI played Best Buy Theater over the weekend with Overkill, and after touring internationally this summer and doing a West Coast run in the fall, the crossover favorites will return to NYC with a show on December 8th at The Studio at Webster Hall with Mucky Pup and more TBA. Tickets for that show go on sale on Saturday (5/19) at 10 AM.
So far, no other word on additional East Coast dates to go with that NYC show but odds are there will be some.

Great band, but who are the idiots that keep booking shows at Webster Hall and then make them 19+? This is just shooting yourself in the foot. Totally clueless. Even Live Nation venues like Gramercy Theater and Irving PLaza are 16+ for hardcore and metal shows. This shows a total lack of knowledge of booking and your audience.

DRI is so played out.

Mucky Pup. More like Sucky Pup.

Re: the 19+. The promoter figures no 18 years old or younger person would care about this show as today's 18 year old was born in 1994 when DRI and Mucky Pup were no more.

@3:16 Makes no sense. D.R.I. has played Gramercy Theater twice in the past few years and it was 16+. These promoters just don't know anything about the genre. Probablythe same jokers who booked Sick of it All with Cro-Mags for the "CBGB" festival and made it 19+. They are just clueless. So because you "think" that nobody under 18 won't care you make it 19+? I have booked shows and I can tell you metal and hardcore needs to be all ages or 16+ unless it's a huge act or you are losing a lot of potential ticket buyers.

p.s. D.R.I. is not played out.
