Matthew Dear

Matthew Dear has a few shows scheduled this summer including a DJ set at the Wavefront Festival in Chicago and possibly a DJ set at Loreley Brooklyn on 5.27 (limited details exist), and in the fall he'll make his way over here for his largest headlining NYC show at Webster Hall on November 17. Tickets go on sale Friday (5/11) at noon with an AmEx presale starting today (5/9) at noon. No word on whether this date is part of a larger tour yet.

I really like this guy as a musician and a person...but I fear he might have bit a little more off than he can chew with a venue the size of Webster Hall...unless he's got a song in a TV commercial lined up or something.

Frankly, I'm not too surprised he is playing Webster Hall. (Just look at the procession of so so bands playing T5.) When I saw the band at Music Hall, they completely rocked. I had a friend with me who knew nothing about Matthew Dear and he left impressed. I would say Matthew Dear is probably benefiting from positive word of mouth about the live band shows. I couldn't tell you anything about his DJing though.

He is quite good in DJing but i would suggest to him to stick to singing because that's what he does best
