Merzbow at Le Poisson Rouge (more by Amanda Hatfield)

We already knew that Merzbow and Wold are confirmed for Scion Rock Fest 2012 (the former will collaborate with Balasz Panoi). Now comes word that the noise musicians will also make a stop over in NYC to play Saint Vitus on June 4th, a rare appearance for both and their only other US date so far. Tickets are on sale.

Check out all Merzbow dates and some streams below.

11 May at Aurora Festival, Riverside Theatres Parramatta, Sydney, Australia
13 May at Aurora Festival, Campbelltown Arts Centre, Campbelltown, Australia
2 June at Tampa, FL Scion Rock Fest
4 June at Saint Vitus, Brooklyn, NY w/ Wold
8 June at graf, Fukuoka

I don't know. Seems like this guy plays enough to not need the ever-present "rare" performance attachment on these "noise legends".

It's unfortunate that such a great show like this will draw at least 101 douchebag hipsters like the last one at Le Poisson Rouge who won't be able to shut their mouths and stop staring into their iphones. Hopefully all the jackasses leaving comments above will chose Bedford Ave over this show.

Yeah, Wold's appearance is extremely rare, Merzbow's not so much. He's been in NYC pretty regularly in the 2000s.
