Off! at Bowery Ballroom last night (via @spins)
Off!

The Bronx and OFF! will team up for a surprise show TONIGHT at Bell House (May 30th) for FREE. Says the Bell House Twitter feed: "Releasing wristbands for entry at 5pm (1 per), doors at 8, SEE YOU THERE!" UPDATE: Doors at 9PM

Both Off! and The Bronx played recent shows in the NYC area, with the former taking on Bowery Ballroom last night and the latter (and their mariachi alter ego) playing a Rocks Off Boat Cruise.

If you missed Bowery Ballroom and will miss tonight's show, you're not out of luck as Off! support Refused on the waterfront this summer.

So if you work for a living you don't get to go. Fook.

Posted by CB | May 30, 2012 2:50 PM

This sounds "off"all

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 2:51 PM

Free show? Only because FYF told them that if they played a free show they'd get some cred back. Assheads. By the way, I really do hate Keith Morris.

Posted by D | May 30, 2012 2:51 PM

Or if you work 7 to 3, or 8 to 4, you do get to go. Quit bitching.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 2:52 PM

having a job sucks you miss shit like this all the time

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 2:55 PM

Don't you retards know how to ditch work early? I don't care WHAT your job is, if you have 1/3 of a brain, you can bust outta there and get a ticket. Don't give me this "Wah I have a job" bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:01 PM

I don't see what work has to do with it. Just go, whenever. You think it's gonna sellout?

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:04 PM

2:55 - you should definitely quit your job, since there are literally thousands who would kill for a chance to work. you don't deserve the food you eat or the air you breathe. you should go back to mommy's house in ames, iowa. do it now!

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:04 PM

3:01 loves having his mommy/daddy pay his bills.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:09 PM

3:01: What if you have to stay overtime on THAT day?

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:15 PM

why give out wristbands at all? Especially four hrs before doors?

First come First Served. Just line up and let people in until capacity. What's the problem with just doing it that way?

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:20 PM

Don't even think about it D. Your shift ends at 8.

Posted by D's Manager at C-Town | May 30, 2012 3:21 PM

lol @ 304 >> "you don't deserve the food you eat or the air you breathe."

psycho shit. go write a manifesto.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:32 PM

^the class envy expressed by "native" New Yorkers is embarrassing.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:34 PM

"Go write a manifesto" is my new go-to insult for crazies. Thank you, 3:04.

Posted by YKK | May 30, 2012 3:38 PM

Crazy is the new name for those who encourage hipster trendies to quit their jobs and move home. Strange times we live in.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 3:49 PM

you spoonfed motherfuckers kill me. native or non-native New Yorkers who would like to go to this show but can't get out of work on short notice will of course be pissed. if Mommy pays your bills or you can get out work don't assume that everybody else has it as easy. right on 3:20, "first come" would be welcome.

Posted by teddylishus | May 30, 2012 4:06 PM

This isn't even going to be sold out, so this whole discussion is moot.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 4:12 PM

3:32/3:34/3:38/3:49 - dude you need to chill out, take a deep breath, and relax. so you feel entitled to be able to do anything you want, fine. let's see how that works out for you. don't be a hater, and just relax now m'kay?

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 4:18 PM

BON JOVI!

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 4:28 PM

I wish I had a job at Mamouns. Full stop.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 4:35 PM

I will take on all of you pussies at Brooklyn Bowl full stop. You just come down and ask the bartender to get Tom, we'll see what you hipster dildo punks are made of.

full stop, pfeh

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 4:38 PM

I'm in line now. Don't give a shit about OFF! It's free so I can't do 44x face, but $50 seems about right.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 4:41 PM

the line is around the block!

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 4:45 PM

@418 i'd argue that the guy saying people who don't want to be at their job right now "don't deserve the food they eat or the air they breathe" is the one who needs to calm down. i thought that was obvious...

#psychohipsteralert

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:01 PM

considering that the venue is close to the end of the block, that's not saying much.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:03 PM

@5:01 typical BV commentor reading intent into agnostic comments. You are clearly intolerant of other people, since you must twist words to fit your prejudices. It is clearly obvious you are the one with the problem, and the anger issues. Ya feel me brah.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:08 PM

^Why would you even believe that troll post at 4:45. Of course the line is not around the block you dipshit. This won't be selling out for sure. The only reason Bowery did last night was because they lowered the age limit for the show to 16+

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:11 PM

what's the age limit for this show?

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:13 PM

Today at lunchtime the line was around the block at Oasis in Bedford.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:14 PM

2nd vote that the anti-hipster guy is the one with the anger/emotional problems who is the real one that needs to breathe. I also think he posts here a lot. I read his voice like that of Ed Anger of the Weekly World News.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:20 PM

TICO!

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:22 PM

2:50pm ("CB") -

A dude in Cerebral Ballzy is bummed he can't attend?

2:51pm posting as 2:51pm -

At least wait 10-20 minutes to impersonate me LOL.

2:52pm -

7 to 3 is tradespeople working hours, so tradespeople can go see this show. 8 to 4 is building worker (security guards, doorpeople, concierges etc.) hours, so service workers can go see this show. How many tradespeople and building workers would go see Off! and The Bronx?

WTF is with this trend of bands adding second shows in NYC lately? You're not that big, Off! I guess it's so they can make more merch money cuz if it's free hey why not buy a tee? I will say free shows make good business sense for bands for selling merch.

Posted by D | May 30, 2012 5:28 PM

set times?

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:29 PM

@520 yep.

also @508, i'm going to overlook your completely incorrect use of 'agnostic,'and point out that thinking that a guy who says you "don't deserve to eat or breathe" is psychotic/mentally off. usually regardless of cause, but especially when its in response to something said in an online anonymous forum. c'mon brah.

i'm not angry at all while typing this; more curious as to how you came to such a ridiculous conclusion that i'm the one who has anger issues, rather than the guy telling people to quit their job, stop breathing, and go move back home with their parents. it's lulz-worthy.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:29 PM

YT.INASNIL will set you free.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:36 PM

set times people?

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:37 PM

If you post more than once in response to another posting, you've clearly got issues. Just saying.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 5:50 PM

"8 to 4 is building worker (security guards, doorpeople, concierges etc.) " -D

bwhaha....yes all security guards, door people & concierges etc. work 8-4. D is such a fucking idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 6:00 PM

6:00pm I didn't say ALL worked those hours, dickhead.

If you knew anything about the workforce, you'll know that 8 to 4 is most commom shift for building workers (8 to 4pm, 4 to 12pm, 12 to 8am), but you don't so shut your dumbassed mouth.

Posted by D | May 30, 2012 6:06 PM

I don't care what times people work, I just care what times the bands come on tonight. Anyone?

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 6:19 PM

And for anyone who says I work at C - Town you are di ck heads - I am a local 1 plumber so fu ck all of you!!!!!!!!

Posted by D | May 30, 2012 6:21 PM

D is definitely some low-level union dude.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 6:22 PM

D - thought it was obvious i was kidding. not really trying to impersonate you.

Posted by 2:51 | May 30, 2012 6:23 PM

Guys, stop responding to this idiot know nothing D. Just ignore whatever this moron says and he will go away eventually. Like every other troll he only keeps going cause you people respond.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 6:32 PM

Just got a wristband, went after work, they said plenty more available. Sign at venue said: doors 9:00, show 10:00.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 6:36 PM

Top of the line worst comments ever. You dolt kids are wasting time.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 6:43 PM

It's 6:50 and there are still plenty of tickets left. Calm down, worker bees.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 6:50 PM

Wait, so should I be going right now for a ticket? Should I show up at the door? Shit, I only found out about this right now.....

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 6:58 PM

Kinda scanned through the article/comments, people seem to be bitching about the time of the show and job responsibilities?

Adorable.

Risk/reward, you fuckin' dumb shits.

Posted by goAt | May 30, 2012 7:30 PM

still wristbands as of 8pm

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2012 8:14 PM

Wow. They fucking tore the roof off / low crowd numbers but I've never seen a band turn an audience frenzied in stage space of one song.

Posted by CB | May 31, 2012 12:25 AM

6:32pm Practice what you preach dumbass.

Posted by D | May 31, 2012 1:38 AM

Hardcore is where future band members meet before they make their important relevant music. It's basically analogous to the lettuce field related to the 4-star restaurant of actual music. Some of you like to pick lettuce; no problem with that, the world needs lettuce pickers too. When your done in the field, you can go collect the shopping carts in the parking lot.

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2012 8:03 AM

^ you're I meant

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2012 8:04 AM

How could you not like Off!? They rock, and they're fun, and they all should be caring for grandchildren by now but instead choose to hang around with teenaged boys. Not that there is anything wrong with hanging out with teenaged boys, if you're into that kinda thing. Unless you take that shit too far, then it is unlawful not to mention downright disgusting. So, don't be disgusting, and act your age!
