The Mets

The Beastie Boys are big Mets fans, and vice versa. So when clubhouse music gurus Justin Turner and Scott Hairston suggested that the Mets honor late band member Adam "MCA" Yauch with their walk-up music Friday night, the whole team jumped on board. Here's what they chose:

SS Ruben Tejada: "Intergalactic"
2B Daniel Murphy: "No Sleep Till Brooklyn"
3B David Wright: "Brass Monkey"
RF Lucas Duda: "The New Style"
LF Scott Hairston: "Root Down"
1B Ike Davis: "Fight For Your Right (To Party)"
CF Andres Torres: "So What'cha Want"
C Josh Thole: "Make Some Noise"
RHP Dillon Gee: "Body Movin'"

PH Vinny Rottino: "Paul Revere"

Best Hip Hop Trio to ever pick up the mics. Respect to the kings. Sad day for NY and the rest of the world.

There's no one who can really say anything bad about Adam Yauch. He lived life and lived it for others. He obviously affected many

Awesome Mets tribute, I've never seen a whole team pay respect like that. You will be missed, Adam.

Cool that MSG did that. I've never seen them do that before, despite having seen other legends pass over the years. Testament to how loved Adam was by NYC and the world.

I'd like to think the first seven comments on here are all the same tool, as opposed to seven different tools.

All these tributes are really nice. He'll be missed for sure.

And once again, there was a so called brooklyn festival at the BAM that had completely ignored a fallen brooklyn hero. How disgusting!

Just to show you that living in new york and being a new yorker are two different things.

P.S. Kudos to the BAM staff member woman who showed up to work last night in a beastie boys vintage shirt she has for ages.

3:03: Better than fake Brooklyners (erm, I mean transplants to BK) acting like they're something special putting on a vintage shirt pretending to act like they grew up there, simply because of this sad instance of a REAL Brooklyners passing. Somehow I can't cringe hard enough.
