You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 4:52 PM

I'm not familiar with the film..'Audience Pick' ????

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 4:57 PM

^ it was a forgotten John Cusack film. Wasn't very good.

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 4:58 PM

anyone who would pick Empire Records over Pee Wee's Big Adventure needs to seriously figure out what went wrong in their life

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 4:59 PM

'forgotten John Cusack film'... isn't that all of them except than that one where he holds the radio over his head?

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 5:01 PM

We get to masturbate in the park if they pick Fast Times, right?

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 5:05 PM

I do that anyway.

I was REALLY hoping they were going to show "The Plight of the Hummus Platter" this year.

It's an amazing documentary about Mexican Chickpea farmers. A real classic.

Yeah "Audience Picks!" should not be italicized because "Rain Dates" is not.

Phoebe Cates? Anyone?

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 6:20 PM

Wait, this means we have to hang out with sweaty poseurs. In Brooklyn.

No thanks

good point, anonymous. to avoid sweaty poseurs, stay in and watch movies on http://essimi.com.

Hipsters, this summer please visit Manhattan, our fine city. We have food and drink, and movies. And PBR

I think Mamouns on St Marks Is better then Oasis on Bedford.

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 8:21 PM

you, 8:21, are a fool.

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 9:25 PM

I share in 8:18's sentiment based on the following factoid...
Oasis's blend utilizes a lower quality corn oil as opposed to Mamouns virgin olive oil.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ at this movie selection. The "Audience Pick!" weekend is cool.

Here is what I would've programmed (all double-features):

7/11 - Taxi Driver / Summer Of Sam

7/18 - Times Square / Street Smart

7/25 - After Hours / Desperately Seeking Susan

8/1 - Bright Lights, Big City / American Psycho

8/8 - The Pope Of Greenwich Village / 9 1/2 Weeks

All these films take place in NYC.

seriously when are they going to open up a location of 'the hummus place' in northside. that place is fucking legit.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 9:48 AM

^ the hummus place makes some great blends, but at $7.95 per order, the prices are pretty high.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 10:05 AM
