DOWNLOAD: Total Slacker - Oblivion (Grimes cover) (M4A)

Total Slacker

Total Slacker are about to head out on the road with Night Manager. Before they do, they'll play with Heaven's Gate and Turnip King at Cheap Storage in Brooklyn on June 2. Tonight (5/15), Total Slacker will DJ between sets at the Japanther/Night Manager/Wild Yaks/Eula show at the Studio at Webster Hall.

For the tour, Total Slacker have recorded a cover of Grimes' single "Oblivion" which we have for you, hot off the mixing desk (they finished it this afternoon) and free for you to download at the top of this post. Keeping the signature bass line intact, the band's version slowly builds to a post-punk crescendo that wouldn't have sounded out of place in fog machine filled dancefloor in 1981.

Additionally, Total Slacker have given us "Brain Slime," the a-side to the band's new single which is being released on Japanese label Sixteen Tambourines. The cover art for the single is below. The Brooklynites also have a UK split 7" with Friends due out this summer.

Total Slacker tour dates are below.

Grimes? They covered the dude from the Walking Dead? I've always been more of a Shane fan but that's still pretty cool.

so i guess BV has completely soldthefuckout. How much did Grimes' trust fund pay for this post? This site is completely corrupt. Don't trust any of the writing. It seems someone pays to have Grimes here at least twice a week.
