Watt was the only thing about the Minutemen that was the least bit compelling.

Posted by Anonymous | May 2, 2012 7:51 PM

^ Ignorant statement.

"Watt was the only thing about the Minutemen that was the least bit compelling."

I wish to god i knew you in real life so i could have you say that to me in person. Then i could laugh right in your face for a few minutes and call you a moron. Doing it on here after a statement like that is not justice.

You are in the running for total idiot of the year. Congrats to you.

"Watt was the only thing about the Minutemen that was the least bit compelling."

absolutely true statement, and obviously the guy is capable of forming an opinion / is not a sheep (unlike the rest of you follow-the-leader hipsters idiots)

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 9:29 AM

7:51- D Boon raised the bar too high for you to see.

Posted by anonymous | May 3, 2012 9:38 AM

The hilarious part of that statement is that those of us who were alive when the Minutemen existed and actually saw them live clearly understood that d. Boon was the energy at the center of the Minutemen. Watt was a good bass player and songwriter but was pretty much a supporting player in that band.

"absolutely true statement, and obviously the guy is capable of forming an opinion / is not a sheep (unlike the rest of you follow-the-leader hipsters idiots)"

the opinion that d and hurley were not as important to the minutemen as watt? uhhh okay.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 9:44 AM

9:41. Agree mostly, but look at writing credits. Watt wrote a fair amount of the material. Hurley's role, as in any trio of bas, guitar and drums, was extremely vital. The band was the sum of all its parts. Not one of them was replaceable.

Posted by anonymous | May 3, 2012 9:50 AM

9:412 is a self important twat. not even worth pointing out his own arrogance because it will fall on deaf ears. suffice it to say that anyone that doesn't truly tolerate (from the heart) another's opinion is a fascist of one sort or another. you sir are a fascist. go play in traffic.

"the opinion that d and hurley were not as important to the minutemen as watt? uhhh okay."

I think the opinion is that the poster felt Watt was compelling but not DB or Hurley. Compelling is not important. Personally, I thought Hurley was hilarious on that show with the smoke monster and the donkey wheel, but not everyone did.

My goodness, you hipsters are pretty fucking stupid. From reading these comments, it's clear you are mostly unemployed since you wouldn't be capable of clearly understanding a superior's instructions without misinterpretation. You need to take a remedial Reading Comprehension course at The Learning Annex.

Watt : D. Boon :: Roger Waters : Syd

Bassists must like to fixate upon their first man-crush and spend the rest of their lives pining over the loss. Silly/sad.

^ wow... i wonder how you would feel if your best friend was taken from you at such a young age.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 11:11 AM

"taken from you at such a young age"

you make it sound like that doesn't happen every day, all over. as a matter of fact, it did happen to me, asshole. and no, i don't have a shrine in the corner of my bedroom to my friend Chris. so go fuck yourself, you self-important asshole.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 11:29 AM

uh, alright, so now i do know how you feel. there are probably more positive ways to deal with than lashing out at people on BV

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 1:13 PM

Hmmm, faggot hipsters attempting to assume superiority over other faggot hipsters. Hmmm, never would've guessed...

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 2:44 PM

7:51-good for you for sharing your opinion. i happen to agree with you.

Posted by Anonymous | May 3, 2012 3:45 PM
