Mariano Rivera, out for the season. For those keeping track at home, both Boston and da Jankee now have no quality closer.

^ ...and hopefully, career.

I am a lifelong fan of Los Met, but must give respect to Mariano. Having said that, I hope the Bronx Blowjobs finish in dead last this year with a combined team ERA in the low double digits.

all hipsters are yankees fans since all transients think the yankees are "soooo new york". that of course plus the desire to touch a-roid's abs as he is boning them up the ass. hipster heaven that there.

Jews, Puerto Ricans and Italians like the Yankees. The Irish like the Mets. Fact.
Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2012 10:31 AM
I am Italian and Jewish, and I am a Mets fan. So, how does it feel to be wrong, again, 10:31?
Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2012 10:46 AM
10:31 is a dope. Lots of Jews grew up in Long Island and are Mets fans.

Mariano... The greatest of all time.
Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2012 11:18 AM
I think it's totally true that transplants become Yankee fans because they think it makes them authentic or something. Almost everyone I knew growing up was a Mets fan. I don't know why exactly, but I think it had to do with how boring the Yankees announcers were. Rizzuto was an unbearable imbecile. Plus, the National League was more exciting.

11:09: Yep. Jerry Seinfled being one of them.
