Bob Mould

So the headline pretty much says it all. The announced Bob Mould show that was to be at Webster Hall on September 7 will now happen the same date at Williamsburg Park and will be free and open to the general public.

Bob and his band (John Wurster on drums and Jason Narducy) will perform Sugar's 1992 album Copper Blue in its entirety and then do a set spanning Mould's career, from Husker Du favorite to songs from his new album for Merge, Silver Age. Pretty sweet.

WOW!!!!

There's no way he can fill the park so I won't grumble about this being free. This is going to be so fucking awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2012 4:47 PM

yeah, this is pretty much the epitome of awesomeness right here.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2012 4:49 PM

I wish it was $10, to keep the free concert trolls away, but this is still pretty sweet. There's no beer garden rules at this venue, right?

Y.TINASNIL will be there to laugh.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2012 5:34 PM

just a suggestion, bv - block all comment posts that deal with basketball as being irrelevant to the subject matter (see 5.34pm above).

thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2012 5:45 PM

Good idea 5:45 PM because people are leaving this site because of that dumb ass repeated drivel as in 5:34 PM.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2012 6:07 PM

Yeah, people will come to BV for their outstanding journalism.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2012 6:56 PM

90% of traffic comes to Brooklyn Vegan for the stupid comments. Without them, advertising revenue would plummet. Then, no BV. Why doesn't the MTA replace all advertising with art...

Husker Douche

7.06- No need to explain. Haters appear in every thread. Stand strong. YTINA.SNIL will eventually forgive them when they flip.

This will be good but I prefer the iPods -- a band with real diversity from track to track.

Are people really still into Jeremy Lin so much? I am in Chicago and people almost never discuss it here . . . I get that it's regional but it seems a little over the top given the music-based content on this site!

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2012 8:52 PM

LOL 850

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2012 8:56 PM

I miss frohawk and hummus. Basketball chinks make lame pseudo-memes.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 12:40 AM

Jeremy Lin is a legend.

On paper, this has all the makings to be show of the summer. Lots of places in the plan that could bring the suckage, but if it all works this could be shit-eating-grin worthy.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 5:20 AM

This is great, but it would have been nice if he had done a smaller indoor show too just for the fans, who would have paid.
Sure, now he wouldn't fill Webster Hall given a free show outdoors, but if he did a BB show too that would have been perfect.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 9:36 AM

It won't be as loud and forceful on a big dumb outdoor stage with Heinekin banners. Definitely not the show of the summer.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 9:52 AM

agreed. he needed to give NYC a regular indoor show.
the outdoor one would have been a great extra, but it won't satisfy the people who actually care.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 11:37 AM

He doesn't have to or need to do anything, you needy fan-boys. Get a fucking life.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 11:48 AM

I'd hit it.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 11:58 AM

I'm definitely checking this out.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 12:02 PM

7:06: congrats dude. The one smart, realistic post I've seen.

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 12:22 PM

7:12 ftw!

Posted by Anonymous | June 9, 2012 12:33 PM

11:48

what an idiot. as if being a fan-boy and caring about a musician's work is something to be embarrassed about. that's more of a life than slamming fans for the sake of doing so on brooklyn hummus. meh.
any deep listener to someone's music would want a show in a good venue, without douchebags (probably like 11:48) ruining the fun. totally fine to wish that Mould would do a regular show in NYC too. The free outdoor one would be gravy.
