"Last night's Dawes show at Summerstage. One heck of a band who put on an amazing show!" - Sergio Ortega

Dawes at Central Park Summerstage - 6/16/12
Dawes

After Kurt Vile's opening set, Dawes took the stage to headline a free Central Park Summerstage show on Saturday night (6/16). They played material off both of their full lengths and also included a cover of Paul Simon's "Kodachrome." More pictures, plus video from their set, are below.

I'd like shows at CPSS if they would / could turn up the volume. The volume is so low and the crowd so chatty that it just turns into one big fit of frustration.

Thanks for putting Kurt Vile on first. Dawes is pretty lame.

Heard them from outside the site. These fucking guys sound like Hootie & the Blowfish. I had to flee that area of the park by the second or third tune. Shit is so unbearably terrible.

If Dawes and/or Hootie & The Blowfish would make you flee (FLEE! RUN! NOW!) an area, the issue might be you.

All the 'Americana' in the world isn't going to keep this band from sucking.

Dawes was great. Kurt Vile was painful. It's all a matter of taste, isn't it? That's what is great about art! (ps Glad you found my Dawes videos!)

really? kurt vile was painful? he was 100% more authentic than dawes. the faces dawes' drummer was making was enough for me to walk out

Again, it's all a matter of taste and Dawes is mine. (Btw, imo, those faces are some of the most authentic expressions I've seen in a very long time). While I wasn't a Kurt fan (though I have a video of his acoustic song) I absolutely applauded for him. It's all good...

amen. kid plays with the feel of levon.

and Dawes was lucky enough to play w both Levon and Robbie at a Ramble on Dec. 3, 2011. WIsh I had been there!

Huh? no accounting for taste... I think Dawes is an incredibly talented young group of musicians that have one of the best sounds ever. The list of professional musicians that have chosen to associate themselves with Dawes speaks loud and clear.
