Taxi Driver

Rooftop Films and Summerscreen aren't your only sources for outdoor cinematic entertainment paired with live music in NYC this summer. The free Films in Tompkins series will be showing classic films with live music every Thursday through August 16. The series kicks off tonight, June 28, with Martin Scorsese's lurid, visceral 1976 masterpiece, Taxi Driver, which if you've never seen you really need to and if you have, it's worth seeing again. Tonight's live performance is soul act Mr. Reed.

Gates open at 6PM and the movies start at sundown. Full 'Films in Tompkins' schedule is below:

I really wish they would have a showing of "The plight of the chickpea" which is an amazing documentary of the Lebanese hummus production facilities in the west bank. Truly a gripping film.

^ I notice you didn't use the words "film" or "cinema" to describe this garbage.

Thank you, I agree.

how is showing a movie tired or forced? like oh god not another free offering of a good movie in an outdoor environment. only a negative person would make it negative for their own negative reasons.

i would like more details if nayone has. how are these showings? how is the atmosphere? do they really supply pizza tonight for free to everyone. do you need tickets, despite it being free, or you just show up? is it roomy?
