Hot Chip at Highline Ballroom in 2010 (more by Vincent Cornelli)
Hot Chip

As you may be aware, Hot Chip's new album, In Our Heads is out today. If you've yet to hear it you can stream it on NPR or Spotify or buy it in a variety of formats. Album opener, "Motion Sickness" is one of the band's best pop moments so far (up there with "Boy From School" and "I Feel Better"). Other standouts include the galloping beatwork of "These Chains" and the slow romantic sounding "Look At Where We Are," and though it's a bit on the long side, the whole album is really great.

As mentioned, Hot Chip will be touring this summer and coming to NYC for a show at Prospect Park on July 18 with Gang Gang Dance. Tickets for that show are still available, and the band have just added a smaller NYC show to happen two days later at Terminal 5 on July 20 with Chromatics. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (6/15) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (6/13) at noon.

Chromatics also have another NYC show around that time at Dekalb Market on 7/22.

Two videos from In Our Heads are below, along with a list of updated dates...

how about a "smaller" show at Bowery? who in their right mind would go to T5 is there are still tickets for Prospect?

Prospect Park is the show to go to. . Prospect Park has Better sound, fresh air, more room. Don't buy terminal 5 tickets DON'T SUPPORT TERMINAL 5.

they played T5 on their last tour and the place was pretty crowded, energy was good as well, so has nothing to do with the venue but the band and the crowd

Prospect Park wins 100% over Terminal 5 anyday.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2012 2:38 PM

T5 has the advantage in terms of start time. F the 6pm start times...I got work man!

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2012 3:08 PM

3:08. 6pm is when doors open for prospect park. But show will not shart at 6.

Yeah but they will get on at what 730 8 the latest?? where at T5 they will get on between 9-10? The hour makes a difference to me unfortunatley on a week day. Friday night better...Wish I could go to Prospect instead but will take what I can get

Prospect Park is still the better place to see them, regardless of capacity. They sold out two nights at T5 in 2010 (though one had the XX opening which might have helped) so I don't imagine they'll trouble filling the venue.
