Magic Kids

Copenhagen's Indians, who we wrote about when he made his NYC debut in April, is returning to North America this summer. He doesn't have much on the horizon at the moment, but while he's here, he'll play a Brooklyn show at Glasslands on July 26 with Milagres and Zulu Pearls before heading to Vancouver two days later to open for Beirut. Tickets for the Glasslands show are on sale now.

If you've yet to hear his single, "Magic Kids," you can download it above or watch its video below along with a list of all dates...

8:35pm...along with the 50,000 White people who like to pretend they're Native American. Ever notice it's always a great Grandmother and it's always "Cherokee"?

They took the whole Cherokee Nation
And put us on this reservation
Took away our ways of life
The tomahawk and the bow and knife

They took away our native tongue
And taught their English to our young
And all the beads we made by hand
Are nowadays made in Japan

Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to die

They took the whole Indian Nation
And locked us on this reservation
And though I wear a shirt and tie
I’m still a red man deep inside

Cherokee people, Cherokee tribe
So proud to live, so proud to die

But maybe someday when they learn
Cherokee Nation will return
Will return
Will return
Will return
Will return
