NYC Pride March 2011 (more by Amanda Hatfield)
Pride

Happy NYC Pride 2012. Already underway, the week of celebrations will come to a close Sunday night (6/24), with the annual Dance on the Pier which will feature a performance by Cyndi Lauper who is also one of the grand marshalls of The March which happens earlier that day. Chris Salgardo, Phyllis Siegel & Connie Kopelov are the other marshsalls. Tonight (6/20) is Family Night (which includes a screening of the original Willy Wonka movie), and there's also a "VIP Roof Party" and "Rapture on the River" on Saturday, not to mention plenty of unofficial celebrations all over the city. Check NYCPride.org for more info.

"We want to be treated just like everyone else...lets dress up as complete lunatics and march down the street wagging our cocks at people while groping each other. That should make the straights respect us."

Oh god. We're still doing that. It's 2012. And aren't you a little too conservative to be on Brooklyn Vegan in the first place? Only a heterosexual would think the gay pride parade was about proving legitimacy to straight people. STFU!

There's a conservative stench in the comments of BV that comes from the midwestern/rural teenagers that for some reason come here for notes on how to be cool. Well here's one: making anti-gay remarks makes you look like a fucking tool.

Does Revelation Records sponsor the event? Considering they released stuff by Youth of Today and Gorilla Biscuits, 2 bands that represent the gay pride in the hardcore scene...

To be honest this parade seems to be a gay parade.
