Cincinatti quartet Pomegranates are back with their fourth album, Heaven, which came out this week on Modern Outsider Records. Their last album, One of Us, was one of my favorites of 2010 and I'm happy to report that the new album keeps up the quality. Heaven throws a little grit and grime onto the band's usually sparkling pop and it's a spunkier record too, but still with their penchant for big hooks and melody. You can stream the whole thing below.

Pomegranates begin a tour this weekend that will includes a NYC stop at Mercury Lounge on July 27. Tickets for that show are on sale now. A list of all tour dates is below.
