Quicksand reunited at Revelation 25 (via)
Quicksand

It seemed somewhat inevitable, but Quicksand (Walter Schreifels, Tom Capone, Alan Cage, Sergio Vega), split since 1999, reunited last night, Sunday, June 10th, as part of the Revelation 25th Anniversary Celebration, a weekend of shows in Pomona, California at the Glass House from June 7-10. The stellar festival lineup featured names that graced and help shape the label's storied history, names like Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Into Another, Supertouch, Bold, Sick of It All, No For An Answer, Sense Field, Statue, Ignite, In My Eyes, Kiss it Goodbye, Gameface and Shai Hulud. Quicksand were not on the bill, though they did advertise "special guest".

Check out video below of the reunited Quicksand performing "Fazer" "Dine Alone" Omission" and their set closer "How Soon is Now?", The Smiths classic that graced the B-Side of the "Dine Alone" single. (Does anyone have the full setlist?) While you're down there, don't miss video of Underdog, Into Another, Gorilla Biscuits and more.

What does this mean? Is this their only appearance? I'm betting that someone has Terminal 5 on hold for a week (though someone wrote on Wikipedia that " It will be a one-time only reunion"). Videos below...

I'd lose my shit if I heard Omission live again. Rememember seeing them with Into Another/Orange 9MM at the Academy - great show.

I wish they'd play here.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 9:12 AM

I'm more excited about this than Refused/ATDI reunions this year!

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 9:20 AM

They'll definitley play a show or two in October in NYC. Think it's two nights at Irving or Music Hall.

Texas is the Reason/Into Another also on that bill.

I'm more excited about the shit I'm about to leave in the company bathroom

Pomona? How pathetic!

YTIN.ASNIL never breaks up like a pussy, then cashes out a million years later.

I heard NYC Rev 25 shows were happening in October.

What's Terminal 5?

Posted by lennycharles | June 11, 2012 9:57 AM

A good time for Walter to get back to Quicksand, as Rival Schools lost the only interesting thing they had, which was Ian Love's wall of sound.

Posted by Ice Tea | June 11, 2012 10:04 AM

I agree with 9:47 - only pussies break up

"as Rival Schools lost the only interesting thing they had"

Rival Schools never had anything interesting going on. Their alt-rock-cash-grab sound was dated even when they first started.

Don't need a full blown Quicksand reunion, but perhaps a few dates.

didnt quicksand open for offspring in 94 or 95?

academy or irving or roseland...

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 10:56 AM

does anyone know the line-up for Into Another? Peter has not been seen in ages, Tony passed away...and who knows about Drew?

Thanks!

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 11:08 AM

Into Another is everyone except Tony. They had Bian Balchack(eleven thirty-four, ignite)!on second guitar and Reid Black(eleven thirty-four, innaway) on bass. It was amazing

anyone have any idea what part of october they are planning for these shows? was about to book plane tickets for vacation but feel a need to hold off now

Posted by p. | June 11, 2012 11:18 AM

I agree with everything 10:53 just said.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 11:20 AM

D is not going to like this.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 11:39 AM

I hate every single person in that crowd. Legitimately. I really hope they play NYC.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 11:43 AM

Didn't Quicksand only have 4 songs on Revelation? Granted, 3 of them were great at the time. The major label stuff, which I assume made up most of their set, was all pretty boring from what I can remember. The point is, well, I don't actually have a point.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 11:55 AM

Anyone have a set list for Quicksand ?

Posted by JT | June 11, 2012 11:57 AM

11:55 needs to go sit in a corner, shut his mouth, and figure out a point.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 11:59 AM

I think the point is that while the original 7" was 3/4 great, I'm not sure it merits this. Can I leave the corner now?

Posted by 11:55 | June 11, 2012 12:08 PM

12:08 Seriously, you think Slip doesn't merit a tour?! You retarded; stay in that corner and learn how to punch yourself in the mouth.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 12:10 PM

"You retarded" - me retarded?

Posted by 11:55 | June 11, 2012 12:13 PM

Quicksand was one of those bands that k rock in NYC
Would play to be cool on the 90's
K Rock blew but quicksand was good
Anyhow maybe a few shows would be cool

Into Another was flawless. I can not wait for an NYC show.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 1:00 PM

Best weekend ever! Body hurts but it was totally worth it.

Posted by Andres | June 11, 2012 1:50 PM

I actually thought the 1st Rival Schools album was pretty great at the time. Can't say I've listened to it since, though.

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 2:30 PM

quicksand +the smiths = jane's addiction. who would've thunk?

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 2:33 PM

NYHC bands or bands who came from the nyhc scene reuniting in California? Makes no fucking sense!? They better play nyc!

Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2012 3:59 PM

Posted by JT | June 11, 2012 4:00 PM

Looks like Quicksand agrees with me on their usefulness, 11:59 and 12:10, you clueless douches.

Posted by 11:55 | June 11, 2012 4:21 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2012 8:19 AM

Thank god this show was in Cali, if I found out that it was in NY and I missed it I would've lost my sh*t!
