Smashing Pumpkins at iHeartRadio Theater presented by P.C. Richard & Son 6/20/12
Smashing Pumpkins

Smashing Pumpkins (Billy Corgan, Jeff Schroeder, Mike Byrne, Nicole Fiorentino) played an intimate, invite/contest-only, record release show at the iHeartRadio Theater presented by P.C. Richard & Son in NYC last night (6/19). Pictures and the setlist from that event are in this post. Did you go? How was it?

If you weren't able to corner Billy Corgan for an autograph last night (we've got video of that below) and that happens to be your thing, then scoot on down to J&R Music World today (6/20) to get your copy of their new LP Oceania signed. The signing starts at 6PM.

So far no new US tour dates from alternative rock's version of Paul Heyman and his latest batch of Pumpkin-ites, but you can catch them in Australia and East Asia at the dates, along with the rest of the pictures and the setlist, below.

I like how they've got a chick on bass and the chinaman on guitar. Trying too hard

Worst setlist of all time. And the new album sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 4:26 PM

how do you get video to look like that? pretty cool

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 4:34 PM

Note the only crowd shots are not focusing on individual audience members. That's doing it right.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 4:35 PM

Dude was on Stern talking mad shit about James Iha. Go figure.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 4:58 PM

Awful setlist, not even worth the trip to the venue.

I was there, it was really good. Especially the new stuff, the Bowie cover and XYU was by FAR the highlight of the whole show. Billy shreds that song.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 5:11 PM

haaaa i love xyu, but i guess the rest of the songs are kind of weak?

what exactly did you want them to play?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 5:12 PM

pretty cool that he plays his own signature fender guitar

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 5:12 PM

i love this fat, old, bald turd. i wish someone would tell him that he wasnt relevant anymore.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 5:16 PM

he should just call it what it is - the Billy Corgan Band playing Smashing Pumpkins - i'm sure he owns the rights to the music so why pretend its the same band?? whatever!

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 5:23 PM

I was there last night and enjoyed it. The band was pretty tight, and Schroeder and Byrne both got the opportunity to shine a bit. Corgan's like the grumpy old uncle, as usual. He can still scream it out though, and man it was loud, my hearing has only just recovered in the last hour or so. I was surprised we got as much old stuff as we did, and the new was good too.

Agreed with your mother last night.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 6:07 PM

What about a promotional Ipods show -- that band, the Ipods, mixes things up from song to song like different genres. j/k

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 6:46 PM

4:26 is James Iha

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 7:06 PM

Billy Corgan - still pissed off at something Pavement said 16 years ago.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 7:57 PM

New album got decent reviews. Am I actually gonna have to check this out?

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 7:59 PM

how are you people saying that's a bad setlist

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 9:12 PM

The best part of last night's show, filmed in true 90's mtv fashion:

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 9:18 PM

It's a bad setlist because there are only 10 songs (they usually play a lot more), 2 of them are covers, and 3 are from the awful new record.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2012 11:27 PM

I'd love to hear the shit he talked on Iha. Fill me in?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:15 AM

Posted by Tru Jin | June 21, 2012 12:31 PM

the new album rules and the new members seem really nice, this is refreshing, but IS IT THE SMASHING PUMPKINS????

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:48 PM

new album doesn't sound like SP at all. it's like Frankenstein music.

not bad though

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 6:13 PM

Oh my god, the tween on drums grew a moustache. That jumps the shark.

Posted by Anonymous | June 22, 2012 3:41 PM
