Deer Tracks

Niki & the Dove aren't the only Swedish duo currently visiting North America. Hailing from Gävle, The Deer Tracks are currently on their first tour of this continent, making two NYC stops: Pianos on June 20 with Nouela, Mon Khmer, and Crux (tickets); and Glasslands on June 21 with Snowmine and Nouela (tickets).

The Deer Tracks have been making danceable dreampop for about four years, with a folky undercurrent that leans more towards The Moonbabies than The Knife if comparisons are staying in the home country. (They're a little M83ish too.) The final volume in their Archer Trilogy set of albums is due out this fall, having released the first two last year via The Control Group. You can download "W" from The Archer Trilogy Pt. 3 at the top of this post and watch a video for "Meant to Be" from Vol. 2 below.

While they're a duo on record, The Deer Tracks are a four-piece band for this tour. They'll be in Toronto over the weekend for NXNE if you're going to be there for that. All listed tour dates and a music video are below.

This band is a joke, right?

9:10 and 9:25 are the same person that has no one to talk to but himself.

So 10:16's now creating "imposter's" to argue with him/herself on this site. This person is beyond weird and creepy.

I would prefer to go see the iPods -- a band with real diversity from track to track!

Can't wait to see them at Pianos!

9:42, don't forget The Antlers and Caribou.

This band is foreign so I have to forgive them a little bit for the lack in creativity for a name. I just think that they should regroup and go back to the drawing board namewise and think of smething that is not taken.

We get it, you are a hipster band, your name has Deer in it, give me a break.

Or rabbit, lots of rabbit bands hopping about, and they seem to be multiplying like rabbits!
