These seats are all terrible.

Pulled a great seat for Byrne and St Vincent but at 143 dollars anyone would be a total dumbass to pay that. Considering Williamsburg Park won't even come close to selling out thereby dropping ticket prices for all 3 shows.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:31 PM

i'll pay the 143 for 4th row seats. i show up late to shows, so i'd be 1000th row at wburg park

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:39 PM

Um yeah hi, $143 is cheap for David Byrne!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:40 PM

"GOT MY TIX YESTERDAY YALL LATE YO"

During a presale that intentionally sold non-premium seats.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:41 PM

stop trying to make the iPods joke happen. it's not gonna happen.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:43 PM

WHY MUST ORCH A 104 MOCK ME SO?! I WANT A PAIR NOT A SINGLE TICKET.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:44 PM

^your date's prolly gonna cancel on you anyway. just go with the single ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:50 PM

The best seats went on sale via an artist presale yesterday, not the Amex/Ticketmaster crap.

"The best seats went on sale via an artist presale yesterday, not the Amex/Ticketmaster crap."

Define these "best seats"

Orchestra Row L?
Loge Row E?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:53 PM

i got orchestra row f in yesterdays onssale!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:55 PM

"i got orchestra row f in yesterdays onssale!"

Let me guess...in the right/left orchestra. There was nothing offered in Center Orchestra in front of row L, maybe K.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:57 PM

Not to mention there was plenty of center orchestra even closer offered today

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 12:59 PM

"i'll pay the 143 for 4th row seats. i show up late to shows, so i'd be 1000th row at wburg park"

Dingus, Williamsburg Park will not be seated and it will be easy to move around and up close

"Um yeah hi, $143 is cheap for David Byrne!"

You are as stupid and clueless as your inbred cousin above. That is most certainly not cheap Especially when you realize that with 3 shows and one or more that will not be sold out, the buying of much cheaper tickets come time of the show is guaranteed.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:03 PM

The first time I saw Byrne, with Talking Heads, the tix was $7.50 and there was about 100 or so fans there. The fact that I am still a die hard fan and love Annie Clark, $143 is not too much to be absorbed by genius.

Posted by marion | June 21, 2012 1:04 PM

"absorbed by genius."

How poetic. Fag.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:07 PM

Marion, I feel so bad for you. So pathetic

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:09 PM

i don't get it - williamsburg park show is $50 something dollars. Why would you pay for the Beacon Show?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:26 PM

got a nice loge seat, center section... that's the difference between williamsburgh and beacon... SEATS....

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:27 PM

yeah, saw the big shoulder heads tour, burning down the house... they played it twice... heard a cut from the new byrne/vincent album... he's still got the voice and the track rocks...

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:29 PM

the willyberg show is cheap because you're seeing it with 6999 other people in the an outdoor venue that won't sound as good.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:30 PM

id rather see it with a huge crowd of people with everyone outside/in a good mood/into it. this show is gonna kick ass.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:40 PM

Yeah I would tend to agree with 1:30 most of the time but not this one or for this show

First of all the Williamsburg show won't come close to capacity. So maybe 3 to 4000 at most. And at Beacon Theater the only place it will sound better is in the front half of the orchestra which is the 143.00 tickets. Really the only good sounding spot in the place. Those that say the loge sounds great are deaf idiots.

I agree thought with 1:40 actually. For a show like Byrne will put on, it has it's merits being outside on a nice night with lots of people.

If you really want to go to Beacon though, I reckon come night of either show you can find someone outside selling good orchestra seats for cheaper than face. This will not be a tough ticket to come by

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 1:51 PM

David Byrne = Jerry Garcia
...for another generation of intellectual elitists...zzzzz

Posted by David S. | June 21, 2012 1:58 PM

I'm happy with my orchestra 2, Row DD pair for 143/per that I got today

actually being able to see the performer(s) is a prerequisite for me. no prospect park bandshell/summer stage shit for this guy unless its free.

I know 100% that I've never gotten an experience worth more than $50 from an outdoor prospect park/central park show, except when in VIP.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 2:13 PM

I don't wanna pay $60 to see Jesus and Mary Chain...

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 2:25 PM

if you think the sound at the beacon is lousy, you belong outside...
rainy september?

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 2:29 PM

i'll fight the crowds and the tall, broad shoulder guys standing in front of me, the beer cups underfoot, the chemical toilets, the tired feet from getting there early to get a good spot... when i see morning jacket at least that will be a rock and roll event...
for byrne and vincent it's the comfort of the beacon...

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 2:33 PM

david byrne would be decent outside. st. vincent, not so much - her sound wouldn't take in an outdoor venue.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 2:35 PM

LULZ at some of you. Know nothings for sure.

Let's see here
2:13 and 2:33 you are a complete jackasses. Your description of outdoor events is so wrong and usualy what idiots say about them.

The comfort of the Beacon lol.

And 2:29 yes the sound at Beacon is lousy unless you are in the front half of the orchestra. But keep praying for that rainy September night to justify to yourself overpaying more than the people in the park.

Again for the patient and smart folks, for THIS SHOW, Williamsburg Park will be great and Beacon is not anywhere near a step up. If you really need to see it at the Beacon though, wait until a few days before the show or even the day of and you will be able to get a great orchestra seat for less than face. You can even laugh at 2:13 while you sit by him.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 2:43 PM

you're kidding yourself if you think you'll get 'great orchestra seats' for less than face day of show. true for people who are too small for the venue (i.e. feist/metric @ radio city, glen hansard @ the beacon), not true for this.

also kidding yourself if you think the bk show won't sell out. probably not quickly, but it'll happen

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 2:53 PM

Are people actually on here saying that the sound at the Beacon Theatre is 'lousy,' but the sound in Williamsburg Park isn't? Give me a break!

For the most part, any indoor venue is better than any outdoor venue; that's how acoustics work. Unless you are comparing the worst indoor venues to the best outdoor venues.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 2:55 PM

@2:53 the only person kidding themselves here is you, you stupid clueless fuck. Zero Idea of what you are talking about. Because of the Williamsburg Park show, you will be able to get cheap tickets, yes less than face, for orchestra come time of the show. Also, Williamsburg Park will never unload 7000 tickets for this. Just wait and watch and let's come back to this thread the week of the show and I will mock the fucking shit out of you.

@2:55 learn to read. Beacon sound is great in certain areas and lousy in the rest. For a show like this, outdoors in the park will sound great enough and actually will sound better than if you are in loge or balcony at Beacon.

By the way dummy, not every indoor venue sounds better than outdoors. Let's see for example. I will take any show at Red Rocks over say Terminal crap. Actually I would take just about any outdoor venue over that tin can.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 3:12 PM

@312 let's exchange personal information

"By the way dummy, not every indoor venue sounds better than outdoors. Let's see for example. I will take any show at Red Rocks over say Terminal crap. Unless you are comparing the worst indoor venues to the best outdoor venues."

*Eye roll*

If you have enough money, none of the stuff you are arguing about matters. If you have money, you would never choose Williamsburg over the Beacon. A non-argument. That is all.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 3:32 PM

I would rather see the iPods -- a band with real track to track diversity.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 3:35 PM

Indoor in September > Outdoor in September
NYC > Brooklyn
Small venue > Large venue
Seated Show > General Admission Lawn Scenario

Any questions?

Posted by New York Concert School | June 21, 2012 3:36 PM

^ Yes many questions

1)Are you a weatherman? Because many nights in Spetember it is lovely outside and actually better than being inside

2)The Beacon is a small venue? Lol it holds 2000 to 3000 people I believe. That is not a small venue. Bowery Ballroom is a small venue dipshit.

3)
Oh whatever the other points you made were inane. Not worth the effort

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 3:53 PM

" If you have money, you would never choose Williamsburg over the Beacon. A non-argument. That is all."

You obviously don't have money then. Very much an argument.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 3:55 PM

i don't believe any of these people are going to the show anyway... especially "red rocks"

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 4:00 PM

Why are people freaking. I would imagine that most people reading this site make over $70 per hour. That means $143 is two hours pay, and the show is probably going to be at least 2 hours -- paying the same hourly rate as your salary does not seem remotely unreasonable!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 4:36 PM

Embarrassed to admit that 3:35 made me laugh . . .

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 4:36 PM

The Mary Chain kick the ass of David Byrne!
but David wins the popularity contest I guess...oh well, I prefer "being in with the out crowd" anyways!

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 5:05 PM

Don't be so cliquey, embrace all of your human brethren.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 5:28 PM

Agreed. Anyone who thinks $143 is a lot for a seated show has been living on a different planet. This is standard for any decent musician with more than three albums.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 6:20 PM

anybody who thinks that a f04rth row setat at wburgwebsrrhall is suxkc : fuck you

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 9:14 PM

Anyone who thinks this is a standard David Byrne show is the person living on another planet. This is Byrne and St Vincent. I am sure David will do a few songs of his own but you can bet the show will be 90% their record together.

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2012 11:05 PM

They're each gonna do an individual set, and then do a collab set at the end.
