tUnE-yArDs at Terminal 5 - 6/1/12
Tune-Yards

Over a year after the release of her album w h o k i l l, tUnE-yArDs still seems to be going strong, playing her biggest paid show yet at Terminal 5 on Friday (6/1). Did you go? How was the show?

If your copy of w h o k i l l is played out, Merrill teamed with Questlove, Beninoise singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo, and Ghanaian-American rapper Akua Naru for a cover of Fela Kuti's "Lady" which is on the new (Red) Hot + Fela tribute and is streamable below. They played this at Terminal 5 immediately after tUnE-yArDs' ended and the T5 crowd stuck around to dance to it instead of shuffling off home.

The Terminal 5 show was with Micachu & the Shapes who play tonight (6/4) at Glasslands, and Delicate Steve who's new album was streaming via public listening ports at various Manhattan/Brooklyn locations over the weekend. More pictures of tUnE-yArDs, plus Micachu and Delicate Steve, are below.

tUnE-yArDs will never be a bad show to go to- their performances are never less than amazing.

But Terminal 5 had to be the weirdest venue to see them in. The crowd was pretty pretentious, which is just weird for a tUnE-yArDs show.

The music was amazing, the crowd needed to get over themselves and that's my review of the show. Pretty sure I won't be going back to Terminal 5 any time soon, and definitely don't want to see tUnE-yArDs there again. I prefer them at places like LPR.

The chick from Tune yards is a cross between an Orangutan and The Ultimate Warrior. Also nice vest bassist for tune yards. Hopefully the show ends on time so you can make it to your Junior Prom.

The show was awesome. I don't really understand why the people below would take the time to write nasty things on here about the bands.

^ the people below? Now that is unfair of you to dismiss my opinion before I even post it. How could you possibly know what I was planning to post? No, rather I think that you are the nasty one. It must make you feel really important judging people you don't even know.

As for tune-yards, it's terrible garbage, and if you paid cash money to see it you are a bigger retard than this guy:http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2012/03/salad_days_the.html#comment-873501

You should be taken by the hand and made to listen to 24 straight hours of stoner metal just to knock some sense into your atrophied brain. The effects of too much fail has obviously warped your sense of right and wrong.
