Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2012 5:03 PM

Mogwai are finally playing NYC? I gave up on them.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2012 5:10 PM

Like Herod, bwu nu nu nu nehhhhh, bwu nu nu nu nehhhhh...

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2012 6:10 PM

glad Mogwai are able to make a NYC show... too bad it's in a room where guitars turn to sludge. see you whenever you come back to Music Hall, Mogwai.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2012 6:30 PM

i'm in line for beiber

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2012 10:40 PM

I don't know if Mogwai at Webster Hall tonight was the loudest show I've ever seen, but it sure as shit was in the top 3. Brutal set, reasonably sized crowd, crowd Douche Factor was a 3 (out of 10). Overall purdy good show.

Posted by Anonymous | June 14, 2012 11:40 PM

We are all YTINASNI.L. He will save us. Nick DiPaolo now believes.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 1:58 AM

Yeah, Mogwai fucking ruled, and the sound was awesome, @6:30 should reconsider and go tonight. Agree, very low Crowd Douche Factor, some even got shouted down.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 9:26 AM

If you go see Mogwai tonight make sure you get there after 8 to make sure you don't have to see that god awful opener.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 9:36 AM

"I don't know if Mogwai at Webster Hall tonight was the loudest show I've ever seen, but it sure as shit was in the top 3."

You must not go to shows that often.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 10:14 AM

I brought earplugs but never used them.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 10:16 AM

are they louder than MBV?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 10:33 AM

Not last night.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 10:37 AM

Swan Song still playing in my ears...

Loud as Fuck that show was !!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 10:52 AM

Mogwai: proving you don't have to be any good, as long as you're loud

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:13 AM

^true...Mogwai are shite...

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:18 AM

^ trying to sound British by saying "shite" instead of "shit" is actually "shite".

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:23 AM

anyone know setlist last night?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:29 AM

11:23 look up Mogwai vs Blur and stop sounding like a fool!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:31 AM

I was at Mogwai last night. Shit was fuck loud. Almost certainly 10:14/10:16/10:37, etc. was either not there or listening from the street. Prove that I'm wrong.

Further proof - some dude kept yelling between songs "turn that shit up" and everyone kept cracking up at that. Matter of fact, the first 5-10 people deep off the barricade (which at Webster is not an insubstantial number of people) thinned out significantly within the first handful of songs. And those were the quieter ones.

Nah, 10:14 etc. is almost certainly a uninformed child, a hateful troll, or just plain wasn't there ... or all 3.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:31 AM

^it could have thinned out quickly because people realized Mogwai are shite?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:34 AM

^oh, you again. what's the matter, are they doing construction under the bridge today? LOL, yeah, that's funny. ZING!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:36 AM

^Ha yeah I was there and just like the Black Keys I walked out!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:42 AM

What time did Mogwai go on?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:42 AM

Oh oh I get it now..bridge construction...troll..so clever!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:43 AM

People, the "mogwai are shite" thing is clearly in reference to the "blur are shite" shirts Mogwai did 10 or so years ago.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:44 AM

^11:44 gets it! Some who was paying attention! Thank you!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:45 AM

did they play Like Herod last night?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:51 AM

Set times last night were 7:30 to 8:00 for the terrible opener and then 8:30 to about 10:30 for Mogwai

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:52 AM

Blur doesn't even warrant attention. They sucked when they were active, and they suck now that they are doing their cash grab. But P.T. Barnum was right - people will ultimately buy shite if it's offered to them. Like Blur.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:54 AM

11:51 - Like Herod > Batcat for end of set (before encores). I got a copy of the printed set list, but don't have it with me now. Will post later either to here or to setlist.fm.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:56 AM

ZING! OH IT STINGS!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:57 AM

My name is Jim Morrison, and I am in The iPods. While I do appreciate the free publicity for our diverse song list, my mates and I would ask that you all come out and see us live in the Grand Central Apple Store tomorrow at 1:00. You will be surprised how quickly you will get on your feet when we do "iPod Shuffle"

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 11:58 AM

11:54 doesn't warrant attention..ok..they sold out 80,000 tickets in London in Aug in less than 10 min..and meanwhile Mogwai are playing Webster hall..ok keep talking to yourself

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:08 PM

Personally I thought that the song selection at T5 a few years ago was a bit better. More 3x guitar selections, plus Mega-Snake and CODY. But no complaints from last night.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:08 PM

Attention and quality is driven by ticket sales now? OK, you enjoy that Justin Beiber show, or Rebecca Black, you of little intelligence and poor logical skills. I'll stick with rock and roll. There are some fucking idiots on here sometimes!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:10 PM

Ok what did you only hear of Song 2? Put words in my mouth retard...Blur have over 300 songs released...95% are decent..

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:12 PM

12:10 In Mogwai's case sure does...there is a reason they never catched on..

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:13 PM

I fell asleep at a Mogwai concert once. There set was at 4pm too...

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:16 PM

@11.31 No, I was certainly there, and it was impressively fucking loud!! Didn't rise to level of pain though, which is the only time I go to the earplugs. Which is probably why I have this ringing in my ears...

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:17 PM

^Tinnitus is a bitch!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:18 PM

Dude enough with this bickering! There is a more important issue at hand! Today is national lobster day!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:19 PM

^Thank you Lobster>ytin.asnil

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:24 PM

12:10 is an idiot...great logic...Also Rebbeca Black had a lot of sales? Really? Sales of what? Which concerts? Albums?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:27 PM

"95% are decent."
Proof that you can't have a rational conversation with a retard.

Enjoy that Beiber show, jackwad.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:31 PM

^ok enjoy your Rebecca Black Jackwad...again..what songs have you heard by Blur besides Song 2? Oh can't answer a question..that is what I thought..

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:33 PM

11:42, you acquired tickets to a show where a band you don't like was performing, then went to the show? Did you do that just so you could post on BV that you walked out?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:34 PM

I'm not saying you don't have a right to act the fool (we all need someone to laugh at and feel superior to) but give a couple minutes between posting so it's not so obvious. Trolling 101, junior. OK, school's over - back to ear ringing goodness.

Took all of 3 sec doing a simple Goggle search to find this salient piece of information:

Please stop being a douche now? Please?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:38 PM

Ha I am still laughing at Mogwai...I have been laughing for over a decade. Mogwai offers good comic releif regarding music like their counterparts GBV and Animal Collective..they all deserve each other

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:39 PM

12:38 hey retard...yes you..you said

"Attention and quality is driven by ticket sales now? OK, you enjoy that Justin Beiber show, or Rebecca Black"

TICKET SALES? WHAT TICKETS DID SHE SELL?!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:40 PM

Blur has always been clown shit. It's a known fact.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:41 PM

12:40 is a total Beiber fan

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:42 PM

12:40 is correct look on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_Black

quote from the page
Black is planning to release her official debut album around 2012, which she said will include "a bunch of different kinds of stuff."[34] It is being recorded at a studio belonging to music producer Charlton Pettus.[35] In an interview with The Sun, Black said that the songs will be "appropriate and clean".

So she does not have any albums, yet.

12:42 their buses are clean I will give them that

Mogwai guitar dude looks about 12.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 12:51 PM

Mogwai did "Blur Are Shite" shirts? I'm no Blur fanboy apologist, but really? A band has to take the piss on another like that when they're barely worthwhile themselves? Mogwai = Maroon 5 or Nickelback as far as I'm concerned.

^they did it to get some publicity because they wanted some action on the Blur vs Oasis front. They were little children doing it for attention because they did not have anything to offer to the music world. Mogwai will not even be a tiny footnote in music history even in music history of bands from Scotland.

7 a.m., waking up in the morning
Got to be fresh, got to go downstairs
Got to have my bowl, got to have cereal
Seeing everything, the time is going
Ticking on and on, everybody’s rushing
Got to get down to the bus stop
Got to catch my bus, I see my friends (my friends)

Kicking in the front seat
Sitting in the back seat
Got to make my mind up
Which seat can I take?

It’s Friday, Friday
Got to get down on Friday
Everybody’s looking forward to the weekend, weekend
Friday, Friday
Getting down on Friday
Everybody’s looking forward to the weekend

Partying, partying (yeah)
Partying, partying (yeah)
Fun, fun, fun, fun
Looking forward to the weekend

Cruising so fast, I want time to fly
Fun, fun, think about fun
You know what it is

Now you know it

Kicking in the front seat
Sitting in the back seat

And Sunday comes afterwards
I don’t want this weekend to end

R.B., Rebecca Black
So chilling in the front seat (in the front seat)
In the back seat (in the back seat)
I’m driving, cruising (yeah, yeah)
Fast lanes, switching lanes
With a car up on my side (woo, come on!)
Passing by is a school bus in front of me
Makes tick-tock, tick-tock, want to scream
Check my time, it's Friday, it's a weekend
We going to have fun, come on, come on, y'all

It’s Friday, Friday
Got to get down on Friday
Everybody’s looking forward to the weekend, weekend (we gonna get down)

How about Luigi>Mario?

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 1:08 PM

Luigi was way better than Mario. He was in shape, he was tall, charismatic, he wore green. I think he was older too, Mario was like the dumb little brother who follows you around everywhere.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 1:10 PM

^true..team Luigi here!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 1:12 PM

^ha ha Mario =Mogwai

sorry couldn't resist!

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 1:13 PM

>>Mogwai = Maroon 5 or Nickelback as far as I'm concerned.

If you don't like them, that's up to you and we all respect that (i think), but don't make idiotic comparisons that demonstrate that you know nothing about music.

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2012 1:17 PM

Mogwai was good last night. Haters gonna hate. Haters are sad, lonely people that want you to feel the desperation that they feel all day every day.
