Governors Ball begins today on Randall's Island.

Metallica perform "Ride the Lightning" in full at Orion Fest in Atlantic City today. If you can't be there, the fest will also be streaming some sets online.

If the Mermaid Parade today isn't enough scantily-clad folk for you, don't forget Sunday is the Gay Pride Parade.

Also Sunday: Help my good friend Roxanne and others suffering with RSD at the RSD Awareness walk in Central Park. It goes down Sunday at 9am (but registration check-in/pick-up starts at 7:30am).

Also follow @bvAustin for just Austin stuff.

Bowerbirds play Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight. Check out their new video we premiered earlier this week. You can watch it below too...

What else?

When trying to come up with a name for your new band, please refer to the listings above. They are chock full of examples of what NOT to do.

Is it worth seeing Ministry these days? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Posted by Brian | June 23, 2012 10:02 AM

I would go see Ministry... mainly cause they only do Tours of Europe and 5 dates in U.S.

Asshole Al! (And I live in TEXAS, where he lives WTF!?)

Sex with lesbian mermaids in dirty coney island hotels is kinda fun, but like everything else, it gets old. Yawn.

Will be first time seeing Ministry. I know it's not under ideal circumstances, but this might be the only time I get to see them.

Every night the scene is set
I've got to drink to forget
I cannot incur this debt
Where's the gun?
Here's my head!

Let's go to the Hong Kong
Breaking glass at madame Wong's.
Let's go buy a pint of booze
Getting drunk getting loose

I just want some skank!
skank!
SKANK!
