4th of July is coming. Here's where to watch the NYC fireworks.

Moonface, who plays Bowery Ballroom tonight, made a new video earlier this month for "Faraway Lightning," off his new album, Heartbreaking Bravery. Watch that below.

How packed do you think the free tune-yards/ecstatic music festival show at world financial center plaza will be tonight? Says it starts at 7pm, but do you think I need to arrive early? Never seen a show there and don't know if they have a capacity limit.

I am going to fart all over LIT! I'm making special chili for this evening!

Posted by Melvins Guy | June 30, 2012 11:03 AM

Lit always smells like farts.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 11:31 AM

Saw Thurston and his new band in Denver last night. While I wasn't a huge fan of his latest Beck-released album, this new band was loud and tight. Lots of noise and rock. Some 12-string strumming from TM, but mostly electric. The Matador release later in the year should definitely be something to check out.

Things to do in Denver when you're dead

Posted by ME | June 30, 2012 11:48 AM

Actually farting would probably improve the smell at Lit.

Posted by Stinky | June 30, 2012 11:49 AM

http://www.bricartsmedia.org/events/angelique-kidjo-s-women-waging-peac BV listings become less and less reliable.

And ”as you like it” at Joe's pub? Common man...

Posted by ME | June 30, 2012 11:52 AM

There is no air conditioning at Lit. Be prepared.

Posted by Lit | June 30, 2012 11:52 AM

The Hold Steady sucks

Posted by Stinky | June 30, 2012 12:03 PM

ObamaCare and RomneyCare are not exactly the same. RomneyCare covers abortions.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 12:05 PM

Lit Basement smell would make a great aftershave.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 12:09 PM

smells like rancid urine at Lit

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 12:13 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 12:17 PM

I would like to see Melvins at Irving Plaza tonight

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 12:23 PM

^ I would like you and Magic Mike to go get me a vegan cupcake from babycakes. upon your walk back, stop by that cafe on Orchard and get me an iced-coffee where they use coffee ice cubes so it doesn't fuck up your drink when they melt. Then, finally, I will kick your sorry ass over to Williamburg where you will fetch me a medium-rare Billyburger while I lay out at the new pool, bitch.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 12:28 PM

I like to fart in small venues and giggle.

12:28 is wearing 2 scarves today in honor of the sweltering temperatures, as well as an ironic "Gas, Ass Or Grass" trucker hat with his purple velour tuxedo jacket. You work it, girl!

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 3:59 PM

I wish Melvins show was moved to Irving Plaza.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 4:59 PM

I wish melvins show was moved to the best concert spot in the city... Terminal 5!

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 5:24 PM

And I wish you both would go the fuck back home. Give my regards to Ohio, bitches.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 5:28 PM

I wish my 8oz container of sabra hummus in my fridge wasn't expired. :(

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 5:34 PM

People, people, people ... I understand the need for partisan bickering because this is BV and that's how everyone acts. But, if I may say, I'm feeling upset over the loss of Hollywood's GOLDEN COUPLE, that is, TomKat. So please, everyone, lend me your ears and hear em when I ask you to shut the fuck up for one moment. Thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 5:38 PM

hey 2:32, you rule

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 6:07 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 6:54 PM

From Gothamist: "Lifeguards at McCarren pool were attacked by an unruly crowd and the pool had to close to restore order."

are you kidding me?! seriously?! one day after that damn multi-million dollar pool opens up, a bunch of jackass kids can't stop from fighting themselves and then injuring a lifeguard?! fuck them and the bus from ohio the rode in on.

and yes, that is why brooklyn can't have nice things.

big sad face. :(

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 7:11 PM

I'm sure somewhere there was a nice office pool, ahem, yeah, pun intended, on how long it would take for the first asshole fight to break out among little brats. It's equally hilarious and unbelievably sad that they can't behave out on their own. I blame them, their parents and the terrible music being created by today's youth like Lana Del Ray and A$AP (I wish I could be an MC) Rocky.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 7:16 PM

7:11 - just goes to show you shouldn't cast pearls before the swine, or give a multimillion dollar pool to a bunch of fucking apes

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 7:30 PM

Hey anyone know if that sausage and the hipster got it on last night? Sounded like a whole lot of teeth wuz gonna be coming out. That's if they were not just full of shit, which they probably both were.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 7:35 PM

^ the hipster probably won, due to the energy giving phyto-nutrient rich chickpeas he ingested prior to the brawl.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 7:53 PM

7:30 - Define "fucking apes" dick.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 8:57 PM

Racism and fart jokes. You geniuses never cease to find new ways to lower the bar.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 9:04 PM

8:57 fucking apes = you and your mother, nancy boy

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 10:40 PM

Laurie Anderson on stage at Celebrate Brooklyn in her mad scientist lab coat taking an 8 bar tribal dance solo accompanied by the African talking drum = you will never see that ever again in this life = wins the night

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2012 10:48 PM

^You might be right about the never seeing that again statement.

The proper response though is not "wins the night" because clearly that would be insane. It is more like "who gives a flying fuck" No one with even a modicum of taste ever cared to see that anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2012 12:35 AM

^I would rather see that than stay at home and whack off to public access cable like you, you circus freak.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2012 7:29 AM

Who says shit like "nancy boy"? You are one serious douche!

Posted by Anonymous | July 2, 2012 1:05 AM

Ooh that was a real zinger 7:29am. You got him real good there loser

Posted by Anonymous | July 2, 2012 1:49 AM
