WHY? releasing new EP, going on tour, including MHOW; Jel touring too (dates)
WHY? are back with a new EP, Sod in the Seed, due on August 14 via Anticon/City Slang. Stream the title track below. Still no word on that new LP which would be their first since 2009’s Eskimo Snow, but this should whet our palate for a bit.
Shortly following the release of Sod in The Seed, the crew will hit the road for four weeks of US dates in late August and rope in a variety of Anticon openers like Doseone, Serengeti and DJ Thanksgiving Brown to play support. Look for those four in NYC at Music Hall of Williamsburg on 9/13. Tickets go on sale at noon Thursday (6/28).
Anticon staple Jel will DJ some of those WHY? dates, but Jeffrey Logan has a few balls of his own to juggle in the meantime. Look for Jel on the road supporting Sleigh Bells (like at Converse City Carnage on July 21), as well as dates with DJ Abilities, Class Actress and others as part of a North American trek in the weeks before that WHY? jaunt.
And while we’re on the subject of Jel and Anticon, Jel teams with Odd Nosdam to hammer out production on the new Serengeti LP C.A.R.. Due on July 31, check out the tracklisting below and stream “Talk to Me” at Pitchfork.
