Altar of Plagues

Surrounding their appearances at Hopscotch 2012, Irish black-metal crew Altar of Plagues and Chicago's psychedelic-blues killers The Atlas Moth will embark on a short co-headlining tour of the East Coast/Midwest that will include a stop in NYC. Look for the pair to join Richmond's Inter Arma and NYC's Sannhet as part of a killer four-way bill at Saint Vitus on September 5th, a BrooklynVegan/BBG production. Tickets are on sale.

In related news, you can catch The Atlas Moth at Pitchfork this weekend in Chicago, along with bands like The Psychic Paramount, Iceage, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Big K.R.I.T, Feist, Vampire Weekend, and many many more.

All tour dates, the tour flyer and the NYC flyer (available in screenprints at the show!) are below.

What other metal bands do the Atlas Moth sound like? Melvins? Sleep?

They sound like Anvil... Good stuff.

Their earlier stuff reminded me of Mosquito Control-era Isis, which is why I loved it.
