Amanda Palmer in Brooklyn in May, 2012 (more by Bryan Bruchman)
Amanda Palmer

Amanda Palmer, who has been very busy so far this summer, has just announced a fall tour including an NYC date on September 11 at Webster Hall. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, July 13 at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday at noon. All dates are listed below.

HOWEVER. The outside the box thinker that she is, Amanda is trying the Louis CK route this time, selling at least some of the tickets for this tour directly through her website. We'll let Amanda explain:

The huge, beautiful & bizarre tour that we're building all summer is HITTING THE ROAD in september. And....scream it in the streets: WE HAVE DIRECT TICKETING!!! I've been hoping and praying to be able to do this for YEARS - to sell tickets directly to my audience without ticketmaster and other middle-people. I still have to play ball with the giant system of venues and promotors and the world at large, BUT i've at least managed to free up about 10-20% of all venue tickets to sell direct to you guys.

These tickets I'm selling directly from this website will probably disappear fast. Almost all of our shows this summer sold out within a day - some within a few hours. But if you do try and get tickets on monday and there aren't any more left, don't fret. A lot more tickets will go on sale on friday july 13th. as soon as we have direct links to all of the shows, we'll add them to my shows page.

I'm hoping this works out. it's an experiment. we'll see.

Tickets through Amanda's website went on sale earlier today and the Webster ones are already gone but, as she wrote above, there will still be tickets available through Ticketmaster later this week.

All Amanda Palmer tour dates are listed below.

I still want to know who this woman is and who her fans are cause she got over $1 million through kickstarter right?

This shit valuable to resell?

Many established artists have presales on their own websites. There is nothing "outside the box" about it. I bought tickets to her Music Hall of Williamsburg show for $1 on Stubhub the day of the show couple of weeks ago. (They came to about $4 after fees.) Free market is not always a bad thing.

Her MHOW show had $1 tickets on stubhub day of show, she's doing a good job helping out ticket brokers.

8:44 having admitted to buying tickets to this dreck's concert you lose all right to make any comments. Especially ones where you criticize anyone else who thinks they are "outside the box"
You have terrible taste and anything you say should always be held suspect.

Isn't September 11 painful enough for New Yorkers.. ?

This shit was embarrassing enough the first time around - when it happened in high school Drama class.

That picture is GOLD, 8:09. This show will smell like patchouli farts.

what 6:44 said. i got my l. cohen tickets via fan club presale. this is no different then that except that she's cynically announcing this and pretending that this is somehow out of the ordinary and you, BV, are enabling this pretense by not reporting it for bullshit.

in fact, she's actually acting shittier. because normally allotments for fan club presales go below the radar but because she's trumpetting herself this one will likely be filled with ticket brokers rather then her actual fans.

I can't understand why everyone hates Amanda Palmer so much here. She's incredibly talented. My girlfriends and I have to use multiple splitters so we can all hear her music on my ipod and we just cry and cry because we love her so much.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2012 9:43 PM

Oh you mean she's having a presale?

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2012 11:12 PM

..exactly

Yes amen. More like junior high drama class.
Theres so much posturing going on to her act while she pretends there isnt. Her uke songs are god awful. Even the quiet pauses in between songs are stinky, like that picture 8:09 PM reminded us of.

Im sure she makes a hell of a clown though on Halloween.

Why does this website even cover Amanda Palmer when the response is guaranteed to be negative?

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2012 9:27 AM

^ Check her PR Company, Girlie Action.

Why does this website even cover ______ when the response is guaranteed to be negative?

I love that ridiculous argument that usually goes something like, "You don't have to listen to the music if you don't like it. Why would you spend so much time on something you hate?" Rational people don't go into these things looking to hate - I give Palmer a chance any time I see her work (i.e. her new stop-motion calligraphy video). You put it in front of people - they're going to come away with an impression. But it is that she is so consistently puerile, so endlessly boring in her art that it results in a negative reaction. The implication, in all her corny independence and insouciance, is that the art is going to be interesting and worthwhile.

Problem is, it isn't. She's just like one of those little drama kids in high school you want to like - but they just won't stop spouting quotes from movies, invading your personal space and wearing their status as "an outsider" as a repellant cloak of absolute suck.

Crosseyed Sniper: 1:12 proved the point (anything an artist puts out is open to criticism) without looking like the kind of troll that "ridiculous argument" is usually directed towards. But hey---continue to revel in your boredom.

9:43 would you marry me

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2012 9:12 PM

At least with reveling I feel something - can't say that I say that for even the vaguest photon of anything Amanda Palmer has put out so far.

Amanda Palmer is a clownish, mediocre performer and an ambitious media leech; the rock version of Paris Hilton. Palmer has stated herself that she can't play, can't sing and can't act, truer words never spoken...but of course that won't stop her from contriving dopey stunts to get attention. What a sad society we live in that a vulgar and marginal performer like Palmer can get press coverage in order to prattle on about her dull and intellectually vapid philosophies. Palmer is predicable and will continue to manufacture mind-numbingly dumb songs to seek attention. Even with her stunts, no one will buy her crappy record. Palmer is from a Sea Org family and has married into Scientology elite Gaiman family. No one is listening but you clams.

Your blog looks nice, on the other hand it would be greater if you can use lighter colors as well as a professional design. This will ensure that a lot more readers come to check it out.Informative post by the way!
