CBGB Fest in Times Square - 7/7/2012 (pic via BrooklynVegan Instagram)

The CBGB Festival released this statement today:

We are saddened to learn about the events that occurred last night at Webster Hall. Our primary concern is always the safety and experience of New Yorkers, music fans and the general public. Naturally we will fully cooperate with law enforcement while hoping for the speedy recovery of those injured.

Live music can be incredibly uplifting, empowering and positive. We don't feel the actions of one person should overshadow four amazing days and nights of events that include today's historic and unprecedented free concerts in Times Square and Central Park.

UPDATE: Here are pictures from the show and a statement from Cro-Mags too.

Will there be refunds for the $30 (with service fees) tickets?

Here my statement Harley Flanagan is a empty headed talentless fucktard.

those girls are fucking idiots; ergo - so are you

NY Bimbos

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 6:31 PM

I must say i hold CBGB's totally responsible for what happened the fact that they let Harley in is unfathomable ,this is one of the longest running and publicized beefs ever ,,this is a prime example of how out of touch they are and have set the NYHC back years with this , BNB has had the very same bands play all the time without incident in the very same venue the difference is they know the hardcore community .. Fuck CB's and bullshit festival hopefully this is the last we hear of them and this corpse beating travesty...

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 6:32 PM

their statement isnt even sincere it just plugs the rest of the festival ...

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 6:34 PM

6:32 hit the nail on the head. I think this fest blows. The SOIA show (had it gone all the way through and SOIA played) and AF/Madball show are the only two worth mentioning.

We'll be getting a refund.

You're fucking retarded. No one is responsible for anyone else's actions. Harley is a moron. He'd better bring an XL container of lube to Rikers. Talk about butt hurt.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 8:17 PM

Harley Race > Harley Flanagan

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 8:17 PM

Of course he's responsible for his own actions, however they enabled a bad situation to occur,,I know Harley is a moron everybody knows Harley is a moron,,,,, so should have CB's.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 8:49 PM

He is a 40+ year old hardcore kid. Give him the chair and put him out of his misery

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 9:00 PM

Fuck Williamsburg

Posted by Sam | July 7, 2012 9:24 PM

CB's "enabled" him? Did they provide the knife, liquor, drugs? NO.
Is NYC responsible when a lowlife at McCarren pool attacks a lifeguard or punches a cop? same thing. Harley could have hid a shank up his ass or sliced somebody up w a broken bottle. should they have known he might do that? and how do you prove intent? you can't.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 9:24 PM

We need Sharia law, the towelheads got it right. You slice somebody up - you get sliced up in return.

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 9:40 PM

8:17 that post is a thing of beauty! Harley Race rules!

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 10:47 PM

Coolest thing about the festival after the Steve Wynn and the Miracle 3 show at Bowery Electric.

That video at 4:53 wants to make me move out of NY

Posted by Anonymous | July 7, 2012 11:57 PM

Anybody know blondie @ 1:05-1:20, you tell her I'm looking for her, 'cause she has obviously never experienced an real orgasm before and once I give her my famous "cascading multi-cum" treatment she won't be so fucking uptight.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2012 12:56 AM

8:17 / 9:24 Your McCarren park pool reference leads me to believe that hardcore is not a genre you are familiar with , anybody who knows anything about NYHC knows that Harley Flanagan and John Joseph have a had decades long dispute over the band , i am not saying CB's provided any of the tools or the motive to what happened but their ignorance allowed it to happen ,, you don't let a fox into a chickencoop (a nice midwestern farm analogy may help put it in perspective) , but if you are going to have these events you need to have someone grounded in that scene who knows whats up the old days CB's had people who worked the door who knew the scene and acted accordingly,,this fest seems to have been infiltrated by hipsters running it...and seriously both your posts make unnecessary references to Harleys nether regions..

While this show was obviously garbage, holding a booker or promoter responsible for the action of a person in the crowd is a bit ridiculous. If he was given some sort of VIP pass, enabled to walk in without going through security, or anything similar to that, then yes, they're liable. But if he gave them whatever astronomical fee they charged at the door for this moron convention, then CBGB's, for all their innumerable faults, has clean hands.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2012 1:10 PM '''''''''here you go John said he had discussed this issue with festival organizers before hand since there were recent threats ,,they didn't take it seriously ... so how is CBGB's not liable... They are going to pay out at least six digits for this amateur fuck up.....

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2012 1:30 PM

1:10, they gave him a fucking press pass. These promoters are completely responsible. What a joke. This fest deserves all the legal trouble thats coming their way. Shouldnt have dug up the CB's corpse.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2012 3:07 PM

any updates on The Gooks' condition?

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2012 3:07 PM

If they gave him a press pass, then they are completely liable. Glad to have the info.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2012 3:51 PM

^ liable for what, exactly? Please explain, mr. Legal expert.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2012 5:02 PM

"CB's..... gave Harley a press pass". You don't know that. He could have gotten a pass thru other means.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2012 5:03 PM

I apologize if my post above was unclear. "they" aren't "liable" for anything. If the stabbed guys wanted to sue them they'd have to go on a negligence claim. Good luck on that.

Posted by Simeone who actually knows about legal liability | July 8, 2012 5:05 PM

Calm down people!!!

Posted by Restaurante Kuisokt Juihgs98 | July 9, 2012 12:16 AM

Why are you so angry?

Posted by Pierre | July 9, 2012 12:18 AM

Harley must have been given some kind of pass. He spoke at a screening of American Hardcore on Thursday with the filmmakers. His two sons were at the screening with him.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2012 12:59 AM

Did he stab anyone? No. So how can anyone know or assume that he would go berserk the next night?

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2012 8:04 AM

I like the portly guy with the knapsack in the main pic.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2012 9:54 AM

Cromags aren't even a HC band, they are a heavy metal band.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2012 8:40 PM
