Jay-Z @ All Points West 2009 (more by Tim Griffin)
ATP

Not very surprising, but...

JAY Z has added three more shows at Barclays Center on Monday, October 1st, Friday, October 5th and Saturday, 6th. The three shows will be held in addition to the five concerts on September 28, 29, and 30, and October 3 and 4.

All eight shows, produced by Live Nation, will go on sale to the general public tomorrow, Friday, July 13 at 10 a.m (EST). Tickets for the shows will be available through Ticketmaster by visiting www.barclayscenter.com or www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.

As announced in previous press releases, more than 7,000 tickets for each show will be priced at under $30.

American Express® Cardmembers will have access to purchase tickets tomorrow for the additional three concerts at www.Ticketmaster.com beginning at 8am (EST).
Neil Young is also playing the Brooklyn venue, but just for one night.

Neil Young should be the one playing eight shows.

8 shows?! Hope Barclays has enough grape soda on tap.

Posted by Anonymous | July 12, 2012 7:54 PM

yea but he has to dedicate at least one of them to breaking the record of times having played "n*ggas in paris" in one show

Posted by Anonymous | July 12, 2012 7:54 PM

Total poser. He's from Tribeca. Enough with the Brooklyn stuff.

Posted by Anonymous | July 12, 2012 7:58 PM

I though he retired?

Posted by Anonymous | July 12, 2012 8:15 PM

I don't know where he was born, but he definetely spends a lot of time in Chelsea with Frank Ocean.

Scalper's Nightmare

Posted by Anonymous | July 12, 2012 9:35 PM

Those $30 tickets will be $5 on the day of.

Posted by Anonymous | July 12, 2012 9:55 PM

Scalpers are going to kill themselves that week.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 1:25 AM

scalper suicide

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 3:09 AM

I think that the price is reasonable and if he has decided to increase the number of the shows, then the interest should be high..so lets see!

Posted by Kay B | July 13, 2012 4:33 AM

I am dreaming of watching him in his shows! Sadly he never comes to poland :(

Posted by Stockerpoint einlösen | July 13, 2012 5:43 AM

i hate myself right now..

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 6:08 AM

do i start selling off all my tickets or just ride it til the end

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 6:14 AM

6:14 - It depends on a few factors...
If your tickets are for a Saturday or for the very last night, I'd ride it. Otherwise, unless you have first 10 rows center, I'd dump them off... especially if your tickets are for a show that lands on a Jewish holiday (Jews love Jay too).

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 7:20 AM

J still a bitch yo

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 7:53 AM

I hope 6:14 can't move a single ticket, then gets popped in a CL ticket scalping dragnet

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 7:55 AM

Most established scalpers/brokers knew that this was going to be 8 shows from their information on the inside. This was not a surprise.
It's the speculators trying to make a fast buck who destroyed the scalping market for this, by buying up too many tickets thinking they can make a quick buck.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 8:36 AM

scalpers are the scum of the earth, right up there with pedophiles.

this is awesome news.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 8:37 AM

Honestly, this is the only REAL way to fight scalping; make the supply meet the demand at an affordable price.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 8:40 AM

agreed that scalpers are like pedophiles, and lawyers

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 9:10 AM

I'm sure scalpers had no idea there would be eight shows so I don't know who told you that...

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 9:20 AM

Will I be able to purchase drugs at this show, or should I count on bringing my own from home?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 9:24 AM

safe to assume guest appearances at many of these shows, eh?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 9:28 AM

Haha, I must have 4x faced some of these kids moms or something . They all kinds of mad.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 9:32 AM

^ I never gave you a dime, fake-black-man.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 9:42 AM

^I 4x faced this kid and took his manhood.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 9:48 AM

ugh this stinx

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:07 AM

Higher price level tickets will be sold for $50 come show time!

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:12 AM

the 8 shows were announced over half a year ago, all scalpers knew.

9:20 - So naive... Most established ticket brokers who do this sort of thing for a living don't get their prime tickets by buying them like everyone else... They get the tickets from the venue, the promoter or even the artist directly, or some middleman who deals with those people. They have an inside connection. This is a well-known, well-documented fact.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:21 AM

whatever bro, someone just bought my tix on stubhub. $80 profit but i'll take it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:25 AM

To continue from 10:21, my point is that, if they have an inside connection, of course they knew that Jay would have 8 shows.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:26 AM

10:25, it's that's true that you just made an $80 profit, then all I can say is "there's a sucker born every minute".

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:27 AM

20 Mins late and I can't pull a ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:28 AM

@1027 it's true. i don't think the guy was a huge sucker, though tbh. i had pretty good seats, only marked them up like 60 dollars each. that's the game, homie.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:28 AM

Yuck only behind the stage.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:31 AM

If the seats were just "pretty good", I would still call the buyer a sucker. He could have waited until closer to the show, when people start dumping off their unsold seats and paid face or less for similar seats.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:32 AM

1020/1021 FTW. WE ALL KNEW THERE WERE 8 SHOWS, WE JUST LET YOU AMATEURS FAILSCALP CUZ IT'S FUN TO WATCH.

SATURDAY SHOWS ARE THE ONLY ONES WORTH ANYTHING, YOU'LL PULL FLOOR SEATS BELOW FACE FOR THE WEEKDAY SHOWS DAY-OF.

Posted by scalper x | July 13, 2012 10:32 AM

are these sold out? cant pull anything for the last date, which is the only one i can go to :(

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:34 AM

And wait until week of the show, when Jay releases his ticket holds. MASSIVE BOMB.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:35 AM

The only thing that would possibly salvage the secondary market on these shows, is if he announces special guests or "themes" (ie doing the whole Black Album or Reasonable Doubt, or something like that) for each night

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 10:38 AM

To everyone complaining about scalpers: if you knew how to play the game, you would love them. They allow you to buy tickets for below face-value if you simply use your brain. Now that the industry and musicians have adapted to the nature of the market, scalpers essentially kick ass.

0.5x face 24/7.

Posted by Real Talk | July 13, 2012 10:38 AM

yes these are all 'sold out' in the bowery presents sense of the word(s).

really though, if you all want free money, you should consider going to the converse soho store right now and grabbing a stack of those free kills tix that they started giving away today at 10am. worth at least 30/ticket. me and my eight homies got a pair each. racks on racks on racks man, all i got is stacks man.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 2:06 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2012 2:32 PM
