Elephant

Tame Impala's new album, Lonerism, is due out in October. The Australian psych-rockers will release the album's first official single in August, a glammy stomper called "Elephant" which you can stream below. The cover art is above. Remixes will soon be available by Canyons and Todd Rundgren (!).

Tame Impala will be in North America soon for a few U.S. festivals, including Lollapalooza in Chicago, Osheaga in Montreal and Outside Lands in San Francisco. (Sorry NYC!) All upcoming tour dates are listed below, along with the "Elephant" stream and Lonerism cover art and tracklist.

Cool song. That Pond album that was released earlier this year was also really stellar, but was kinda slept on for some reason.

This track is pretty awesome. Can't wait for this record. I agree, that Pond album def flew under the radar but was really great

Sonically interesting, but the lead singer's voice is so corny and gutless that it's no surprise that someone like Todd Rundgren would gravitate to something like this.

crosseyed sniper, true words of a coward right there.

Is it me or does the bass line sound a lot like the basss line from classic Dr. Who?

Cool song. At one point about a 1:30 in it turns into a psych rock version of the Airwolf Theme.

Crosseyed Snyper, how is his voice corny? it sounds like lennon.

"Corny" in the soft rock, 1973-waiting-for-something-interesting-to-happen, inoffensive-easy-listening-nothingness sense of the word "corny."

Arab Ladies is taking this place by storm. What happened to the self-restraint and subtlety of jocuri and miniclip? Are those days gone so soon, ne'er again to return?
