What is it with these semi-one-hit-wonder bands during the 90s that tour Williamsburg/BK nonstop as if they've somehow been relevant for all this time we've forgotten about them? Can we stop this nonsense already?

Hail to the D!

their shows at Bowery are always good

Nada Surf moved on quickly after Popular but you didn't...They have 7 albums..

I laugh at 10:25. They are a Brooklyn band and love to play for their hometown fans.

10:29: More like dropped off the radar. Meanwhile, I never dropped off, baby.

Hah 11:02, what a Philistine. A phenomenal hometown band with quality records one after another. Go listen to Skrillex and cry yourself to sleep.

I consider myself a pretty crazy huge fan of Proximity Effect, Let Go and The Weight is a Gift but their last two albums have been god-awful. Their show at Bowery earlier this year was terrible.

I mourn them.

Skrillex shreads on the guiiiiiitar! I would put him in the top 100 Guitarist of our generation!

I remember 'popular' and then they disappeared, and then I saw them again at CMJ at the Barsuk showcase and was like, oh these guys are still around? That was like '04 I think, they keep truckin' along, good on them, not a fan but don't begrudge those who are and find the song about the stars being indifferent not bad

12:15 Heh, your fatuity amuses me. Be that as it may, I've done better than you. Your girlfriend was in my company last night and showed me quite a sensuous time. She was relieved she didn't have to hear you badgering her constantly, "Do you like my six and a half inches? Do you like my six and a half inches?"

Posted by Anonymous | July 24, 2012 2:10 PM

^ Ha! My girlfriend was with me the whole time, loser! Perhaps you were projecting, since even the Hot Chip flamers get sick of you trying to impress them by licking the photos of them whenever you come across them (more like they come across you, amirite?).

What's your next big word there, chumley? Oh, it doesn't matter anyway. I'm not going to be able to hear it muffled through that tiny locker you're stuck in. Play nice and perhaps I can get a hold of a locksmith thar!
